Hi everybody! I thought I could start a thread for those applying to UTHealth Cizik school of Nursing for Summer 25. Share stats and information as we hopefully get accepted!Â
I received my acceptance email for Summer 2025 yesterday!  It states I must accept or decline within 10days and send $200 to secure my placement. No word from TWU yet.
I applied Spring 2025 and was denied with a 95 on HESI and 3.7 GPA overall and  4.0 science prerequisites GPA. Pretty shocking I felt.Â
I began studying for TEAS. Managed to get a 86 overall on TEAS. Reapplied and was accepted.
I also sent applications to TWU for the fall semester. Now I am contemplating between CIZIK's Accelerated BSN program and TWU's traditional BSN program.Â
I am currently working as a CNA/PCT. Does anyone know if I could still manage to work 3 12's along with either programs??Â

Congratulations! I had the same question but what I was told when I toured Cizik is that it's not very common for students to work and if they do it's a flexible part time weekend job or so. I'm assuming because it's accelerated they discourage students to work so they can keep up with their studies. So now I'm just trying to save before I start ðŸ˜

I'm currently trying to find a job where I can work 3 12s too but I've had no luck. I have my PCT certification too but since you have experience you should try a PRN position? That way you could pick up shifts based on your availability which is what I would like to do but they usually want people that have experience to get those positions.ðŸ˜

I don't think this would work. I believe the classes have to be completed fully first. Potentially before you can even enroll in your nursing classes because the missing classes show up as a hold until cleared. Have you checked HCC? They usually have online classes with a lot of different start and end dates.

You can CLEP Sociology and send the report to the college where you took your prerequisites (Don't send the report to UTH). First, check whether your prerequisite college accepts CLEP-sociology and can add it to your transcript. Then, send the updated transcript to UTH. If you are CLEPing, grab the free coupon offered by Modern States. Study for one week, book the test the next week, and then wait two weeks for the credit to be shown on your transcript. You can finish Sociology in one month.

Philosophy can also be CLEP-ED (HUMA1301 Humanities). But it is a lot harder with tons of details to remember than the other subjects. It can take you about 150 dedicated study hours to pass.
I received my acceptance yesterday too. Â I have a prior BA and a law degree, but retired a year ago and plan to do nursing as a retirement career. Â I have 2 classes in progress as they did not accept my second English class as it was a business English nor did they accept my statistics class as it was Economic statistics. Â They will both be finished before start. Â I look forward to meeting all of you! Â I am sure I will be the oldest one there!Â
