Hi, I was wondering how my chances are getting into the nursing program for the spring 2017 semester. I have a 3.5 pre req gpa and A in a&p and a 90 on the teas. I know they mostly
look at gpa which is why I'm so nervous... I heard 3.5 is the cutoff. I got a B in eng comp but I got a 95 on the English portion on the teas so I was hoping that would better my chances. I'm really nervous!!! If anyone is in the program please give me your insight!!!
Hi, I'm about to start my second semester and am wondering if we need to re-do background checks, physicals, drug tests, etc. for clinical clearance. I remember Gellar saying we're good for a year but don't want any surprises and can't reach anyone from the program. Does anyone know for sure if we will need to do these kinds of things again? Really would appreciate some re-assurance that we're good until next semester!! thanks!
HI Everyone my name is sharmila I was wondering if I should try applying for the Nursing program, I got a 70 on my teas. Prereq gpa is 3.7. The problem is that in a/p I took it 3 time the first time I withdraw and the second I got a F and the third time I got a Bt. In ENG101 I got At and psy I got a A-. and in math I got a A. I was wondering if my a/p grades will become a reason for me to get rejected.

Yes you need the physical every year. Not the drug testing tho. That's just the 1 time and if your job asks for it. But from school and clinical stand point, just the one time for drug testing

I'd still apply. You'll never really know if you'll get in or not unless you don't apply.
Hey guys, just wondering if any of y'all have advice for first sem nursing student. are the tests mostly about what's in the PowerPoint, or PowerPoint AND textbook? Any tips would be great. Thank you!
NO powerpoints. First sem is the ONLY easiest class in the entire NUR program. You have to read the text a few times and do practice question. You'll learn eventually how the program works and what you need to do. Everyone studies different and at different pace. Just remember NOT to compare yourself to other students and read at your own level. Don't expect spoon feeding; dont expect profs to tell you what to read and not read. You'll have to refer to your syllabus and read the assigned chapters before class to have an idea on what will be taught.
It's a piece of cake to get into the program. But it's freaking hard to stay in. If you need any help or advise, proactively talk to students in the upper semesters as we had gone thru what you are goin thru and we have our own invaluable resources that's NOT given by the profs.
--Good luck
