City tech Nursing spring 2016

Published

Hello everyone,

I apply for the nursing program and I have a pre-req GPA of 3.5 and a teas score of 72. i just wanted to know what are my chances of getting in. Does anyone knows what was the cut-off for last semester. and finally when do we get the acceptance letter for Spring 2016?

Thanks

Does anyone's certifiedprofile have their background check information? It turns out the code given to us by the school to place an order on certifiedprofile was only for the drug testing.. Anyone know if the background check was supposed to be included?

I suspect that we can do the HIPAA and OSHA stuff. It looks to be available as courses at the MEDCOM website we are required to sign up for. We should take a look into that. That could be how we fulfill the requirements for certifiedprofile.

Okay, I'm sure now. For all those accepted into the program, please go to the medcom site as directed in the flyer in our acceptance letters. Look up all the videos regarding HIPAA, OSHA, CHILD ABUSE REPORTING, and INFECTION CONTROL. Once you've completed those videos and tests on the medcom site, you can print the certificates and sign it then upload it to the certifiedprofile website! Please do so asap.

@bizarreville can you tell me any tips to study for first semester final? Like any main topics you remember?

@Chloezy

Hope your exams went well and you're progressing onto the 2nd sem

Hi @Bizarreville! I am entering 2nd semester in the fall, any advice?

Hi @Bizarreville! I am entering 2nd semester in the fall, any advice?

First off, Congratulations on passing the 1st sem!!!!! I'm sure it was a challenge!

Remember it gets progressively harder as you move up the semesters. Every Nursing student's advise is read your material.

The 2 important things I CANT STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OFF IS:

1: READ! READ! READ! 1130 is direct from the textbook but 1110 is critical thinking. Do lots of questions . When the profs say to do Kaplan questions and practice questions, DO IT! they are telling you to do it for a reason. You can most definitely expect questions on the exam from kaplan!!

2: Keep in touch with students in the 3rd and 4th sem. They will be your savior, they will help and guide you as we all went thru it. Pick whom you're comfy with and keep in touch with them, but again don't be a burden to them as 3rd and 4th semesters are utter hell to go thru! I know I went thru **** in the 3rd sem! I thought 2nd sem was hell, but I was in for a surprise in the 3rd sem.

Take a month or two off during this break, relax completely and start reading by August.

2nd sem is like a kick to the b*lls!! It's literally a wake up call. From McGuinn and Gellar supplying information and helping you in everything, you'll be thrown to the wolves with no help and only your syllabus and reading list and upper semester students to go off of !!!! I'm not trying to scare you, but it's reality.

Inbox me if you need any help.

Good luck in the 2nd sem

Wow! I've heard this alot, thank you for the advice and yes I will inbox u if I have any more questions. I definetly know what I'm going to get myself into once the sems starts so I need to prepare myself during this break...Best of luck in 4th sems ur almost done!

Yeah lol.... so close, yet so far! Thank you tho. And take one day a time. You'll be fine. We've all been there and passed.... you'll do it :)

Background checks are only required for Brookdale clinicals and you pay separate

I got in in 2016 Fall. I have already failed out i think. I had a 3.6 and 74 on Teas i think. BEWARE this school has a policy that doesn't allow students to see their exams. If i had knew that i wouldnt have applied to the program. I am someone who learns from their previous mistakes and not being able to see mines demolished me. Overall i had a bad experience with that school. I wish i never went. If you dont have a medical background YOU WILL STRUGGLE
