City of Hope New Grad 2018

Published

To anyone who applied to the 2018 City of Hope New Grad program:

Has anyone received an invitation for an interview? I've been trying to contact HR for weeks now to check on my status but I keep getting directed to someone's voicemail box. I have no idea what's going on with this application process. Any information would be helpful!

How long was your interview with the unit manager(s)?

I had two interviews in the same day. One was with the recruiter that lasted about 20 minutes before I was handed over to the unit manager. That interview was about 45 minutes.

I think COH has the usual turn over rate. People move to other units or transfer in. The New Grad program is great. They really want you to succceed and I lucked out on a great preceptor. Ive gotten a 6 percent raise since April 1. I feel so blessed to be working my dream job as an oncology nurse at a great facility

Hello everyone!

I've recently got an interview for City of Hope. Would anyone be willing to share their experience with them? Please let me know, I applied for their New Grad program for Fall 2019

Thanks

Wondering, how quickly did they notify you about wanting to do an interview after you submitted your application?

Has anyone heard back for an interview yet for the August 2019 new grad program?

Sorry for just getting to you! I was immediately contacted, but I was already in contact with the recruiter for months since I applied the cohort before!

I was offered a position in Hematology and accepted! I was offered it almost immediately after my interview. But I was already in contact with the recruiter since the last cohort. Good luck! I hope you hear back soon!

That’s awesome to hear! Congratulations! Would you be able to share your experience with waiting from the last cohort to hear back? Did you just stay in touch with the recruiter for possible openings? Thanks in advance!

Hi! I made it past first round of interviews, and I have an interview with the clinical educator and unit manager. Would love some input on how the second interview went, and what I should prepare for!

Thanks!

Hi! I also have an interview coming up with the educator and unit manager! Hoping for the best!

First congratulations on making it to the second interview! It was practically just questions pertaining how you are in a group. Why nursing. Why onc. Why should they choose you over someone else. Strengths and weaknesses. There was a heavy emphasis on self care and how you handle death since it is a cancer hospital.
