To anyone who applied to the 2018 City of Hope New Grad program:
Has anyone received an invitation for an interview? I've been trying to contact HR for weeks now to check on my status but I keep getting directed to someone's voicemail box. I have no idea what's going on with this application process. Any information would be helpful!
Yes, interviewed in February, received job offer 2 hours later. Program started April 1. It took a long time to get the interview once they said they would schedule it because the recruiter was on leave for a while. They had to push the program back because of the recruiters leave. I think the program was actually due to start in March. There was over 600 applicants with only 10 spots available for the program. I think they interviewed 80 people out of the 600 but that is not confirmed. I'm reluctant to say what unit I am working on but it is a specialized Hemo/ oncology unit. There are 4 New Grads on my unit. Yes, I thought the med test was hard since it is a timed test that I was able to take at home which helped.
I really enjoyed working at City of Hope. The people that I work with are dedicated, hard-working people. There is a lot to learn and there is a class to go to at City of Hope every Tuesday plus an additional 2, 12 hour day shifts with the preceptor.
Good luck to all

Thanks very much for the info. What about the turn over rate? Does it require lots critical thinking skills? How did you prepare for it? Is it most like "step-down" unit or "critical care" unit?
