Hey everyone! Has anyone applied to the City of Hope New Graduate program? I applied a few days ago and will post on here if I hear anything. Best of luck to those that applied!

I know someone who got an email last week for an interview
Yah...just read in another forum that CoH are already in the process of interviewing. It sounded like Oncology experience really is a priority in their hiring, at least for this cohort. They're interviewing applicants w/certain # of hours of experience or CNA experince in oncology.

From what I know, emails have been sent to those to verify some info and schedule phone interviews. Also, they don't yet know exactly how many positions will be open, but estimating around 20. Also, I heard from a friend who has had a phone interview her status said both on file and in process.

They've been interviewing people already, I went to the career fair and they are very specific about nurses who have background oncology they would not even bother looking at ur résumé unless you have referral inside the hospital.

My background is in oncology.. I really thought I had a shot at this one. No referrals for me though, I'm originally from Chicago & just moved here

Yeah I would think you would have a good shot. Did u put that on ur résumé and cover letter? That you do have background on oncology? Do you have BSN?

I precepted in an oncology/medsurg unit and my application states "on file" and "in process" but still haven't heard. I hope they're not yet done calling.
I did, I put it at the top of my work experience (even though it was a preceptorship) and in my cover letter! I have my BSN and I was also contacted by the nurse recruiter after the first application this year. She said that I was a great candidate blah blah and that my application will be on file, almost as an alternate. I felt as though my chances were up there this time around because of that! Oh well.
My application also says "In Process" and "on file". So frustrating!
I had no oncology experience but did put a referral in my application. Status is still on file so I'm not expecting to hear anything did anyone's status change to not selected or something like that?

Yes I also had a preceptorship in oncology and a BSN but no referral. My resume was looked at for a minute after submission but has been "on file" since. Very disappointed but it makes sense now not being contacted further if one has to have an inside referral to get to the next step. Good luck to everyone else!
