City Colleges of Chicago Fall 2014 Nursing

Published

Hey Guys/Girls,

I would like to start a thread for those of us who have applied for the Fall 2014 Nursing Program at the City Colleges of Chicago. Please post if you have any information you might have regarding acceptance letters and also ask questions regarding the process. I think this will be helpful for applicants as far as how the acceptance process is coming along as well as support through the waiting period.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Nevermind, they just got back to me!

You received a reply? I didn't. This girl who also applied said that they told her we wouldn't get a reply. If you don't mind me asking...What did it say? I am going to email them to ask why I didn't get a response.

If you don't mind me asking what did they say? No one has contacted me.

I did not get a response either!

Good luck to everyone. I as well just submitted my application. I finished my prerequisites last semester. I am currently taking Bio 226 and Chem 201.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for starting this. :) I have been checking this site for quite some time now; I like to read 2012/2013 applicant chats. If you are new to this site and you applied to ccc nursing program I would highly recommend to read them as well.Boatloads of valuable info.

Does anyone know how many seats do they have between all three colleges, and how many applications do they get each year ?I tried googling it, but couldn't get the straight answer...

I have completed all the prerequisite and corequisites at Truman, and currently taking chem201. I am hoping to get into Truman for nursing. Good luck to everyone.

I have no idea how many spot there are. I also like reading the other threads from past applicants and there is a lot of information that can be helpful for us.

I can't believe that this year we have to wait until May 16th for our responses and previous years was in April.

Good luck to you too!

Hi, I also have applied for nurusing at Truman. Did you guys get the email about a new school at Malcom X? I too wonder how many seats there are and how do they make the decisions. Ahhh so stressfull!

Hi,

According to some, there are around 100 +/-seats per school... Doesn't seem like a lot :(

I heard about Malcolm X too, I guess it's a good idea that they try to consolidate all medical majors to one school; I bet it's gonna be a major pain for those students who lets say get into Daley then have to move to either Malcolm or Truman. I have a feeling lectures might get "hairy". Oh we'll, I will worry about that then (hopefully) :)

Does anyone plan on getting a CPR cert early? I know, I am getting way ahead of myself, but this waiting is killing me :0

I heard about Malcolm too, but I believe that won't happen until 2016. 100 seats? Oh no that doesn't seem like that many spots but I guess we will just wait and see if we are one of the lucky ones to get in.

100 seats.....now I am really nervous. Are you guys applying for Truman or other school?

I am not getting my CPR until I get in haha! 2.5 months to go!

I'm applied at Daley as my first choice and Malcolm as my 2nd choice. I am not doing my cpr until I get in (fingers crossed).

My first choice is Truman and second Malcolm X. I don't know what will I do if I get into Daley. Its just soo far for me to travel, I live 10 min. away from Truman. I took a whole bunch of classes there, so I am hoping that the nursing committee will look into that (fingers crossed). I am taking chem 201 with this guy who already has an RN from Daley (class 2013) and his situation was similar, he lived across the street from school and took prereqs/coreqs there, but they still sent him to Daley. He tried to appeal the decision and was told that his GPA (3.8)(no TEAS back then) wasn't high enough for Truman! It is weird, I know a whole bunch of people at Truman's nursing program, who had lower GPA's and ~68% on TEAS and still got in.... I wonder how exactly do they determine who gets in and where?
