City Colleges of Chicago Fall 2014 Nursing

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hey Guys/Girls,

I would like to start a thread for those of us who have applied for the Fall 2014 Nursing Program at the City Colleges of Chicago. Please post if you have any information you might have regarding acceptance letters and also ask questions regarding the process. I think this will be helpful for applicants as far as how the acceptance process is coming along as well as support through the waiting period.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Congrats TdoubleA! I live like 2 min away from Daley and got accepted at Truman but I am also grateful to be in so Ill make it work. I accepted your request.

Thanks deermc14! Looking forward to a great start to the nursing program!

Hey Guys!

I haven't logged into my email for weeks so I was floored to see I was already sent an acceptance email. I will be joining you all at Truman as well! And I sent my request to join the FB group! I'm so excited! Can't wait to meet everybody and get started! Hate I'm so late to the party, I could've started celebrating a week ago! lol

Congratulations! I'm still celebrating lol I am super excited.

I just requested to join the fb group. I still can't believe that I will start with the RN Program this August. 3 years ago I was just thinking about it and praying at the same time. I'm looking forward to meeting you all.

Does anyone know anyone who hasn't heard back from the program at all or got a denial email? I haven't head anything back from the ccc nursing department at all and I am the only person I know in this position and its driving me nuts. Im pretty stressed that something went wrong with my application? I had A's in all of my pre-reqs including Anatomy 226, and only one B from stats. Also a 77% on the TEAS with a 98% in reading which seemed to be what they were most interested in for the TEAS. I have tried calling but no one can help me and have sent emails. I feel kinda lost, does anyone know another student who has not heard back at all????

From the looks of it only Truman has notified their students. So maybe Malcolm X or Daley is just a little behind. I hope everybody else doesn't have to wait until mid-May! That would be awful!

I am pretty sure only Truman is taking nursing students this year. I think they suspended the other two schools program's either due to loosing their licensure because they are building the new campus on Malcolm X's campus that is supposed to be ready Spring 2016. I am just starting to panic :( congrats to all of those that have already been accepted though, i know it must feel so GOOD :)

I am so sorry that they are making you wait. Your scores are not bad at all so maybe they haven't sent all the acceptance/denial letters yet. I hope you hear something soon.

Hi,

I'm in! YAY! So, just to make sure I got it right...as of now we are only supposed to send a confirmation email? I went to the nursing department to ask about the specifics of the medical packet, but they said they would send out another email after May 1st and for me to hold off on the medical stuff. So far I have registered for CPR! I'm so excited that I can't even sleep anymore. lol

Congrats to All! :cat:

Congrats! So did they say the requirements on the first packet is wrong? I made my appt for this Monday. Maybe I should cancel and wait? Anyway I am super excited too!

Thanks! I went in on Tuesday and asked them if all the medical info I had was correct (the attachments they sent-3 of them) and they told me to just wait til they send the next email, which surprised me, because they didn't send an email that they made an error. Either way, I rescheduled for the 2nd week of May, i think the 7th or 8th. I think they just mixed up the price though, but I'm not 100% sure. It might be more than $250 at heartland, but every time I asked her to be specific about the error she kept shutting me down and telling me to wait for the email, and that all I have to do is send the confirmation email. Have you registered for the CPR class or do you already have certification? I think it's supposed to be a special CPR class (healthcare worker's CPR). I just don't want to not do something, and then not REALLY get into the program.
