  1. Hi all! Im hoping someone will reply to this as I know its kind of last minute. Has anyone gotten any emails from truman about their medical packets and if everything is ok with them. They just told me today that I am not immune to measles and need to get a booster vaccine, I find this weird because I am immune to mumps and rubeola, the other two diseases in the MMR vaccine, but I have scheduled an appointment with heartland again and am getting the measles vaccine somewhere else as they dont offer it. I think it is extremely irresponsible of them to close down the nursing department during the only time that we need it. Anyone else feel the same way? They told me I have til July 7th to submit evidence of my vaccine booster. Anyone else having trouble with any of this?
  2. Thanks! I went in on Tuesday and asked them if all the medical info I had was correct (the attachments they sent-3 of them) and they told me to just wait til they send the next email, which surprised me, because they didn't send an email that they made an error. Either way, I rescheduled for the 2nd week of May, i think the 7th or 8th. I think they just mixed up the price though, but I'm not 100% sure. It might be more than $250 at heartland, but every time I asked her to be specific about the error she kept shutting me down and telling me to wait for the email, and that all I have to do is send the confirmation email. Have you registered for the CPR class or do you already have certification? I think it's supposed to be a special CPR class (healthcare worker's CPR). I just don't want to not do something, and then not REALLY get into the program.
  3. Hi, I'm in! YAY! So, just to make sure I got it right...as of now we are only supposed to send a confirmation email? I went to the nursing department to ask about the specifics of the medical packet, but they said they would send out another email after May 1st and for me to hold off on the medical stuff. So far I have registered for CPR! I'm so excited that I can't even sleep anymore. lol Congrats to All!
  4. Hi All, Has anyone been accepted to Truman College's Nursing Program starting Fall 2014? (That means class of 2017) If so, let's talk! I'm specifically interested in making sure we all do the right steps and do not mess anything up or forget anything like the medical tests and drug screening etc. I recently went to the nursing department to ask about the medical tests and drug screening, and they told me to hold off on that until May, because there was apparently a mistake in the email, specifically about the price of the tests at Heartland Health Center, but I have registered for a Healthcare Worker's CPR Class for now. I'm also interested in whether there is any info about books yet, I haven't gotten any yet, but maybe someone else knows. Anyone working on anything so far? Congrats to all that got in!
