Members are discussing the affordability and organization of ABSN programs, particularly at public schools like SFSU and CSUs. Some members express frustration with the lack of communication and respect between schools and students, while others share their excitement about being accepted into ABSN programs and inquire about enrollment details. Overall, the conversation revolves around the pros and cons of different ABSN programs and the application process.
Hello, everyone.
I applied to the RN program at CCSF.
I understand that it may take some time to receive a decision, based on past experiences.
I hope to start in Fall Semester 2025 once I receive the good news.
We can discuss the application process and share any available information.
Good luck!

There are also many very organized but VERY competitive programs at many CSU's that offer ABSN. It is a great alternative route for many. However, also very heavy workload. Samuel Merrit, a PRIVATE college that offers ABSN, is very expensive and unorganized due to changes in their role system atm. ELMSN- is still a very good option, for some, and PUBLIC colleges like SFSU- ALSO OFFER IT, that is cheap.
Thank you so much for this! I have been looking into SFSU and CSU Stan's ABSN programs and have heard great things about the program. Nursing will always be a highly impacted major, especially at any public schools. Additionally, I have retaken stats and that has boosted my GPA. After my previous rejections, I have learned that things don't always go as planned and it is up to me to improve myself.

LOL
$700/unit with student loan not even cover full tuition is cheap. And that $700/unit doesn't cover anything else. Students take classes in a community college in San Mateo for ABSN.
Even SFSU students and graduates would NOT call those programs organized. I went through all those ***s. And I am not interested in wasting more time with people like you guys.
All CSUs suck if you have enough brain cells you should know there is no communication or respect between schools and students.

You trust whatever you prefer. I don't care.

Dude your advice is not law though.. I have also heard positive reviews about those programs..? Never seen a student there that wasn't happy...? either way! If people could not get into CCSF, ABSN and ELMSN are good alternatives regardless of what YOU have to say!

If you cannot afford those private Us... you cannot afford ABSN after you graduate with bachelors. I learned that the hard way. ELMSN will also put you into more debts. And a new Grad MSN is also only qualified for entry level jobs.
BTW. CCSF just sent emails for admitted students and ask people who cannot enter the program to notice them so the standby list can move.
Are you already accepted for CCSF nursing program for 2025? How did you know that all admitted student received email? Also do any standby students get rejection letters or any status update because orientation is next week?
