Hey all,
I'm wondering if anyone has any information on any schools around the Cincinnati area that offer a NON ONLINE RN to BSN program. I can not stand taking online classes, I need to actually be sitting in a classroom listening to someone teach in order for me to feel like I've learned anything. So if anyone knows of good programs or if anyone has taken one and can give me some insight I would really appreciate it.
I tried searching on here for a thread on this subject but the search function on this site is appalling at best.
Also I'm kind of looking into either UC or Miami.
Thanks in advance!

Uc has their program listed on line. you go to class 2 days /week for fulltime(9 months to complete and 1 day/week for part time(18 months I think) + clinicals.
Miami just switched to doing BSN and will no longer offer ASN.
You can also try some of the schools in the Dayton area if that is not too far. If you go to OBN you can find a list of BSN programs. That is what I did.

Hi Tim, you could check out Northern KY University... right across the river in Highland Heights. I know they offer an RN to BSN program and I don't *think* it's online, but not totally sure. Something to look into maybe.
Good luck!
UC is also cheaper between Miami as well.
Xavier University
Indiana Weslyan Univ has a campus off of Union Center BLVD. They have an in class program that I believe meets once a week

Mount St. Joseph has this program as well. It's expensive, but they have a lot of scholarship opportunities.
Thanks for all of the replies!
I can't remember if this is right or not but I think I read that the UC program you need to have 1000 hours of working RN experience to get in. Does this sound right to anyone?
Thanks sjsa82 I'll look into NKU, didn't really think about them before.

I am enrolled in UC's RN to BSN program. We meet once per week...an instructor comes to the hospital I work at. It's pretty nice! I don't recall a 1000 hour work requirement.

How do you like it?
How long is the program if you guys only meet once a week?
What hospital are you working at? Do they have some kind of deal with UC?
(you can PM me if you don't fee like answering on the boards)
I'm old....can't figure out how to PM. :chuckle
I will graduate in March of 2011. Some of my co-workers will graduate in September of that year...depending on what extra classes they need. It's about 18 months.
The Health Alliance has some kind of deal with UC...so our classes are paid in full upfront. I only have to pay for books. It's a pretty sweet deal. They usually start a group every year or 2, depending on interest.
I'm really happy with UC and the professors I've had so far. I had no problem with transferring the credits I earned at Miami and Sinclair. Good luck!
