Does anyone work there? I am looking for any and all information about working for Christ. I know they have split from the Health Alliance. They have agreed to pay for my nursing school in full if I sign a contract to work for them for 3 years upon my graduation. However, if it's a horrible place to work, perhaps I should reconsider. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Amanda
Britt,
Thanks for all your info! I'll be a student nurse there in the fall, and signed the tuition benefit agreement, so I'll work there for a few years after graduation (in return for getting my schooling paid for by them). I've heard some mixed things about computerized charting from the nurses I know... but I'm all about technology! I'm glad you had a good clinical experience there! Where did you/do you go to nursing school? Are you thinking about going into L & D? As of now I'm undecided, but I have 2 years to figure it out. Thanks again!

I go to NKU and I'm in their Accelerated BSN program. I got my first degree from Ohio State in June. Yes, I'm thinking about L&D or Peds. I like computerized charting, I dont think it is difficult at all. When I had clinicals at Childrens I was able to navigate their computerized charting pretty well. There are so many things to do in Nursing so after a few clinicals you should have an idea where you'd like to work. I came into school thinking one thing...and as time passed I've definitely changed my mind. Initially I wanted to work in the OR.
Good Luck!
I am a current employee at Christ, and I think it is a wonderful place to work. I worked as a PCA while I was in nursing school, and now I am a new nurse there. I know several people who have gone to the Christ school of nursing and are going to work there, and who finished 3 years ago and still work at the hospital even though their contracts are up. I wouldn't want to work any where else
And yes we are completely computerized charting charting now, it seems to be working well, but i am in orientation so i haven't really gotten to do much with it, but people see to like it
Hes2371,
Yay... an employee of Christ Hospital! Hehe, it's great to hear that you like the hospital so much. I have an interview there tomorrow for a PCA position on a cardiac step down unit... which is great since I might want to go into Cardiac nursing. I think the computerized charting will be awesome! I'm all for new technology. Did you feel like you sort of had a leg up on people when you interviewed for the PCA job, since you were a student? I'm hoping that will help out. I really want the job. Thanks for all your help and info!

I work there too. :) I love it! I signed the benefit thingie too and my contract is up yet I'm still there. I am leaving within the next year or two only because I am moving out of state. Otherwise I would stay.
I have heard only good things about the CCI. I don't work in CC so I really don't have any firsthand information for you...sorry.
any current christ college of nursing students...have you heard anything bout the financial aid for the incoming students, i know they stop offering the tuition benefit i am kinda salty bout that. I recently got accepted and have no way to pay for school other than grants and loans. How do you like the school? where are you doing your clinicals? what are your plans after graduation? anyone going to do a RN to BSN?:typing:bluecry1:

I do not work at Christ, but I have had clinicals there. I was in L & D and PP. The facility (at least the 9th floor) seemed very modern. Since it's a teaching hospital, the staff is pretty friendly. I only met one Nurse that was rude. I also got the opportunity to go to the Prenatal Center which was in the Medical Building (across the street from the hospital). Everyone was VERY helpful. I haven't heard anything negative about Christ either. I may not have been much help but that is all I know about Christ. Oh yeah, one more thing...In March the Nurses were hearing that they'd be on complete computerized charting by May. If things went accordingly they should be on computerized charting by now.
Are you considering working there or attending their College of Nursing?
