CHOP Nurse Externship Summer 2019

Is anyone else interviewing at CHOP today (2/1) or Tuesday (2/5)? Also if anyone who did it last year could offer tips or suggestions it would be much appreciated!

No I’m not from philly nor do I go to school up there. They accept around 50.

@clemsonnurse I just accepted my position for the summer at CHOP! Do you know good places to look for housing and any neighborhoods you’d suggest? I appreciate your help!

I ended up using a Facebook page called University of Pennsylvania housing, sublets, and roommates. I found a great room and great roommates in a 15 minute walk from chop. Just beware of scammers. But overall I know a bunch of other externs that use that same housing page too and it worked out great.

@lmn1428 Did they call you or email you when you found out? I still havnt heard back yet, I’m so nervous! My application now says “in process”

Don’t stress yet! They haven’t notified with official offers. I don’t even know pay yet. They just told me I am offered because I had to notify to other externships who offered me by today so had to call them to see if they could know early. I think their goal is still first week of March.

I just received an offer for the CHOP externship too! I am from out of state, so I am looking for housing as well.

Ah yay! Will be nice to kinda know someone coming in since I don’t know a soul in Philadelphia. I’m closing on a sublease today. I found it through the facebook page that was suggested above! Got a super good deal and was walking distance to the hospital. I won’t be bringing my car
