Let us know what you decide and how you like it. I'm an ICU nurse-- been out for 2.5 years and am looking to start traveling in January. California is on my priority list. I'm currently from VA and its so neat seeing everyone that is interested in California and reading about their experience. I am new to this site but love it so far. I have a friend that works in Palm Springs, CA as a travel nurse and loves it. Good luck! Just out of curiosity, which agencys have you looked thru. I'm trying to get all my research done :)

Hi all! I'm a new travel nurse and my recruiter has mentioned 3 possible orders. Palmdale, Downey, and Irvine. The Downey assignment is Kaiser (yes, I've heard/read the Kaiser complaints), and the Irvine one may be Kaiser as well but I'm not sure.
I've actually already moved out here from the east coast - I'm just staying somewhere temporarily until I get an assignment. I would love to get input on these hospitals if anyone has worked at any of them recently. Since I am new to traveling and am running out of $$ waiting on assignments, I think I will have to take one of the 3.
I worked at a 900 bed inner-city hospital in DC for 3 years so I'm not really phased by bad areas or crappy staffing. All the Kaiser complaints I have heard pretty much sound just like my old hospital, so I don't think it can get any worse.
Thanks for any input you can give! :) PS, I love it here. Seriously, where has California been my whole life??!!
