Hey Everyone! I can't wait to apply for CHOC's residency. Who else is applying and to which unit? I'd love to work in the CVICU. I was hoping they'd post the application today, but it's not up yet.
Did my interview yesterday for the Medical Unit, felt really good. Lots of good rapport and - surprisingly - a handful of mutual laughter. Hoping for the best.
Hey, that's great to hear!!! Yeah, the staff was very sweet and very approachable! I hope mine went well hahaa, I mean there were a couple questions I may have not had the perfect responses to, but hoping for the best!
Good luck! I'm hoping we both get good news! Do you know how many people they are hiring for the unit this cohort? I forgot to ask
Hi everyone! So glad I found this thread, I was offered a position in the NICU on 12/14 as well and im so excited to get started!! Has anyone else who was offered a position heard from HR yet? Also does anyone know if there is a facebook group for the cohort? Thanks and have a great Christmas :)
I got an offer from the manager for the medical unit today!! Best of luck to everyone!! This was my second time applying to this position... I applied in the summer and got rejected!! So don't lose hope! Y'all were meant to be nurse for a reason... you got through nursing school and I'm confident everything happens for a reason and in perfect timing!
I actually have been volunteering in patient hospitality at CHOC and at nexus (formerly healthbridge) children's hospital since August. I picked up a temporary / part time job at a clinic doing occasional meds, EKGs, and handling referrals.. babysitting as needed and trying to just take care of myself emotionally and mentally while I wasn't working full time! I would suggest volunteering somewhere even if it's doing vitals (lestonnac free clinic in orange takes volunteers!!) and if PEds is your passion to show interest working with children in some form. I honestly did not have a lot of luck from any other hospitals (I didn't get any other interviews)... so it was definitely stressful. I also went to school out of state and had no experience as an aid, so it is definitely possible!!Congratulations @kten11! May I ask what you did (in terms of work) in the meantime before applying again?
