The CHOC app for their new grad RN residency recently opened, so I wanted to create a forum where we're all able to connect! I applied to the CVICU!

Hi everyone! I was reading past cohort forums and they all talked about an on demand video interview. Has anyone received anything regarding that?

Unfortunately I have not received anything yet for the on demand interview. I wonder how long after till they start sending them out.

Hi all,

Still no word on a virtual interview yet - looking at past cohorts - hoping we hear back this week!

On another note - does anyone know the rough starting hourly salary for the program?

From what I heard at the information session they held at our school (WCU), they will not be doing any virtual interviews this time around. Theres been a change in the process. They said they may do a phone screen when the invitations for interviews go out. Regardless, we will hear something by June 19th and the interviews will be held the week of the 24th.

Starting salary is 35 and is on the low end for New Grad programs. For reference, Fountain Valley is 38 for days and 42 for nights.

Oh wow interesting! I’m also in the running at CHLA and there’s is $34 an hour for days but they do time and a half after 8 hours, so it equals out to $39 an hour for days. Plus a significant differential for nights. I thought CHOC would be higher, but guess I was wrong! Thanks for the info about interviews too! Crossing my fingers for everyone!

Hi all!

I still haven't heard about interviews, has anyone else? They're supposed to be the week of the 24th, so we're less than 2 weeks out!

From what I understand, we have until next Wednesday the 19th to get a call for an interview. If you don't get a call then that is pretty much it.

Thesweetestferns - did you speak with someone in HR or? Also wondering if you are aware of anyone getting interviews at this point? I don’t thinkn I’ve seen that in this thread. Thanks!
