CHOA Externship 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Hey I just wanted to know if anyone else applied for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's Externship for 2017. I had a digital interview with them on December 11, 2016 and I know they said they review them in the middle of January, so I wanted to see if anyone has heard anything yet.

amlexi, my digital interview was December 15. I got an email requesting references last week, but haven't heard anything else since then. My status still says "under review". My friend got a call this morning that she is being considered for med/surg at Scottish Rite. The woman told her that each department does their selection process differently though (she actually never got the email for references - they are sending it out to her today). My email said that I will hear something by mid February if I am selected to move forward.

Also, congrats nurseacorns! Very exciting! I remember reading that the externship does not start until the first week in June. And I believe it's 10 weeks long.

GDeb and Nurseacorns, which department are you being considered for?

I just received a call that I am being considered for the Cardiac ICU at Egleston!

I'm going to be interviewing for the Neuro MedSurg floor at Scottish Rite!

Just completed my interview with PICU this week, fingers crossed that they send out offers quickly

Hey Guys!

I'm a little late to the game but I just found out I'll be interviewing for a position in the Emergency Department at Egelston this coming week. I'm so excited and nervous!!!

Anyone have any tips for the in person interview? I know this is petty but, what did you guys wear? Business casual, or business?

Thanks!!! And good luck to everyone!!!

Madison

I wore a dress with a sweater! The questions are similar to the digital interview! Don't stress yourself out! You'll be great:)

I had my interview this past week also! I hope I get picked for the position! I wore dress pants, a blouse, and a blazer type jacket. I think the focus for this round of interviews is to determine if we have the right personalities and long term goals for the units we were selected for. They want to find people who they can invest in for future careers and not just for a summer.. Good luck with your interview Madison! Let me know whenever yall hear back :)

I was offered a position in the CICU :) I hope that yall get picked for your units as well!

has anyone heard back from ED yet?? I think a lot of units are calling today

I heard back as well from PICU! Have you received your email yet?

I had my second interview last Monday for inpatient at Hughes Spalding, but I haven't heard anything else back yet...
