Hi all, just starting a new thread to see where everyone is at regarding application to the CHLA RN residency program scheduled for September 2015! What units did you apply to, and who has received their packet information?

Hello! Thanks for starting this thread! I just submitted my app today so I haven't received the packet yet. I'm guessing that's where we choose our top 2 units? I'm applying to the NICU & OR.

I think that you're right! I put my two choices (PICU and CTICU) in my objective of my resume, but I'm sure we'll have the opportunity to more clearly choose in the packet :). I hope CTICU is a choice!

Hi everyone,

Slightly freaking out! I received my packet last week and am frantically waiting for one more letter of rec from my professor. Unfortunately I live across the country in NY and think even if I over night my packet it will not arrive in time :( For my choices i put Operating room and NICCU, we will see if my packet even gets there on time! Have all of you that applied graduated? Or are you graduating in may?

You and I are applying to the same floors! I haven't turned in my packet yet...I actually have to do it on the very last day but I live in the area so I'll be hand delivering it. Don't fteak out, if you overnight mail it you should be fine! Just make sure to tell your professor your situation! I hate when they make you wait...same thing happened with one of my professors, and I made sure to ask for letters way in advance. I'm sending positive thoughts your way! Oh and I graduated in December. Good luck. :)

Hi everyone! Any idea of how many applications they receive/when we will start hearing? I graduate in May and am up in nor cal. I sent my packet and it arrived on the 20th!

Hi everyone, thanks for starting this thread. I'm a BSN student from North Carolina and planning to move to CA after I graduate in May. I applied to the PICU and the ED as my second choice. Anyone else applying from out of state? I emailed my packet and it has arrived March 20th, any ideas on when we are expected to hear back? Thanks

Hello all! Thanks for making this thread! :) I'm applying to the OR as my first choice and PACU as my second. I'm also doing my preceptorship in the OR at CHLA right now so it'll help me a lot. I dropped off my packet to HR in person and now I'm just anxiously waiting for call backs.

Hi RNJedi, any tips or anything you learned about while precepting at CHLA? I'm sure you came across New Grads and had a chance to pick their brain a bit!
