CHLA RN Residency Program March 2015

Hi everyone, I just applied to the CHLA RN Residency Program for March 2015 and wanted to start a group to see where everyone is applying from. Anyone complete their packets yet? I'm live in southern California and am planning to apply to NICU as my first choice and PICU as my second choice.

I didnt appy to USC because I am only interested in pediatrics. I did apply to UCLA. I'm not expecting to hear from them anytime soon.

Would love to to hear from CHLA! I will be applying to UC Davis and Loma Linda.

Any new updates on Rady's or CHOC? I know Cedar's new grad doesn't open until the summer and I'd love to have a job well before that. Kaiser is pretty much impossible to get into without being internal.

Hello all! I applied to CHLA for the ED and CV Acute. The wait is killer. Best of luck to everyone!!

I don't believe that CHOC will be having a Winter 2015 residency this year. From what I've heard, they lost their grant for their residency program and just underwent a whole bunch of layoffs, so I don't think they will be hiring anytime soon. I spoke with someone internal and she said she thought they MIGHT have a Winter residency, but I called last week and they had no updates. If anyone hears anything soon, please keep us updated!

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to add that I am waiting as well to hear from CHLA. It is good news to hear that they have less applicants for the winter cohort. I currently work as a PCA at Rady Children's in San Diego and there has been no update on the March new grad program except that some (if not all) of the ICU's won't be accepting any applicants. Hope we all hear soon! Good luck!

Congrats to everyone who has gotten invitations so far!

I was also invited for the speed interview for the PICU. I go in THIS Thursday, crazy!!! But so excited! Has anyone heard from BMT/ONC?? I've got friends waiting on those units

Good luck to everyone! And each unit goes at its own pace so don't be concerned if you haven't heard yet. I know my friend didn't get a call from the ED till mid-November last year!

Congrats on getting invited for the first round of interviews!! this is so exciting!! The only two units that I've heard of getting calls are NICU and PICU. I applied to the ED.

Yes it's a skype speed interview. One of my friend's heard from heme/onc. I think they are calling people too.
