CHLA and Rady Children's

Does anyone have insight on when Children's Hospital LA or Rady Children's in San Diego will resume their new grad residency programs? Thanks in advance!

Hi! So I currently work at CHLA as a Care Partner and am also waiting for the RN Residency to open. The nurse manager and supervisors I have talked to there don't know when it is going to open. They haven't been told anything. I was told that they were having a meeting soon to discuss it though! I am hoping they will let us know soon. ?

They updated their website today! September program is delayed until further notice. 
 

Their September cohort got pushed to start until January. I have a couple of friend who will just be starting April 12th! 
 

I doubt they will have a second cohort this year ?

The postponed the September cohort in February! They were suppose to open apps March 2nd but now it’s TBD. 
 

they normally have two cohorts a year (March and September) so since the old September one is staring in April I am hoping they will start a new one late 2021 but we will see. I heard they want to keep the September cohort but they have to see ? trying to remain optimistic!!

Hey @ees80! CHLA recently opened their new grad residency 3 days ago and they're accepting applications until June 9!

Hey sorry! So yes they just opened it and they changed their entire application process compared to last year. Instead of a letter of intent and prescreen interview, it is now 4 short essays. You can also apply to more than one unit which is nice. And I believe the program is now 1 year too.

for tips im not really sure, but they say the cover letter is optional but I would recommend doing it. I also know some managers at CHLA prefer1 page resumes vs. two page! ?

Did anyone apply to Radys new grad program that starts in August?

I just got a text saying that my credit score changed... and it's a week after the CHLA application closed (I remember their application saying they will check our credit...?) Did this happen to anyone else? I'm trying to check my report to see if I can find out why there was a change and if it's because of someone performing a check. I just need some good news!
