U.S.A. California

Hi all,

Just wanted to start up another forum for CHLA's Versant New Grad RN Program for the March 2013 cohort. Here's a link to CHLA's page: http://www.chla.org/site/c.ipINKTOAJsG/b.3579535/k.2A87/RN_Residency__Pediatrics_Nurse__RN_Versant.htm

The online app should only be open for a few more days apply now and GOOD LUCK!

Ahh hem/onc and BMT would be the last ones haha I'm dying here guys! How were the Interviews that people had the last two days? Also I wouldn't give up hope until the end of the week cause didn't someone say they called HR and that's what thy said?

Anyone heard from onc or bmt?? I also applied for hem/onc and bmt. I'm going nuts waiting to hear! My stomach has been in knots for days and my phone never leaves my side! We just need to know at this point!

Specializes in IVF and oncology.

Dear HR: Give me some new status...... Im still with hope but going crazy too! :)

So there are a bunch of us waiting for hem/onc bmt right??? So that probably means that they havent called yet...otherwise at least once of us wouldve heard i feel like...i hope haha

I know! I've been checking my application status and refreshing this page all day -- makes me feel like I am at least doing something.

I'm starting to wonder if they aren't taking anyone for hem/onc this time. Not really sure why they would allow us to choose that as an option and not take anyone, but it's just really strange that, as far as we know, no one has been called to be interviewed for that unit when people have heard from every other unit.

I dont know why but when I applied to CHOC last time hem/onc was the last to be called as well. Maybe they are waiting because a lot of people chose one or the other as their second choice and they want to see how those people interviewed first or something? Who knows haha trying to be positive.

But yeah that would just be cruel and unusual punishment if they werent even hiring any hem/onc or bmt haha

It already is cruel and unusual punishment lol. They need to just say, "You'll hear one way or another within 6 weeks of applying" instead of saying calls go out a week after apps are due. I never have my phone on me, but darn if that thing hasn't been glued to my hand for a month.

Anyway, I was thinking too maybe so many people applied for that unit and they're still trying to decide who to interview.

As long as we haven't received a letter of rejection, we're still in the race :)

Yeah haha i mean i hope not THAAAAAAAAATTT many applied either. I think maybe it pry has to do with people second choices...? maybe like BMT didnt get that many apps so they are waiting to see if people who put onc as their second choice would be a good fit and those that put bmt as their second choice could do that? haha at least thats what im REALLY hoping :) but yes still in the race thank goodness haha

Remember, there are internals that get priority. I know a new grad who worked PACU, she says they took her up as an RN after graduation, so internally she got the spot.

I just got a call for an interview a week from tomorrow!!! :) for hem/onc!!! so there coming out now guys be ready :)

anybody who had an interview got any suggestions? all she told me was they are gonna ask me a few questions one of them being why the unit I chose.

Good luck to the rest of you hem/onc people the phones are gonna ring i can feel it!
