Hi all,
Just wanted to start up another forum for CHLA's Versant New Grad RN Program for the March 2013 cohort. Here's a link to CHLA's page: http://www.chla.org/site/c.ipINKTOAJsG/b.3579535/k.2A87/RN_Residency__Pediatrics_Nurse__RN_Versant.htm
The online app should only be open for a few more days apply now and GOOD LUCK!
So happy for the hem/onc people who have been holding out for news :) As for interview tips, I went yesterday and the interview panel was very nice...don't stress, be yourself. You'd be doing yourself a solid by researching the overall hospital as well as the unit. Have a question or 2 of your own ready, if time allows they may ask you if you want to know anything. If you are in Earl or Weingart conference rooms, leave yourself extra time to find your way down to them, it was not easy lol.
They said mine was going to be in conference room MRI. but perfect! what are good interview questions? I always struggle with that part because I feel like i research too much haha did they say they would let you know by 11/19 as well?
Because she was hired onto the floor she was already working on. Just because you are a new grad doesn't mean you MUST get hired into the new grad program. My hospital has one, and I was hired outside of it.
oh huh interesting seriously like every position outside of new grad programs i get denied on but cool congrats to you and your friend then!
Big congrats to you, spanglec!!! Hope your interview goes well. My only advice for interviewing is to be yourself and make sure you ask some questions, but don't sound reheorificed (it'll make you sound less genuine and interviewers see right through it.) Ask a question about the program specifically and the hospital as a whole, if you only ask 2. This is something you've worked hard for, just speak from the heart and you'll make them see why they NEED you. Let us know how it goes!
(still praying over here for a call, but my hope is fading. Whatever is meant to be, I suppose.)
Congrats to you, too, BabyRN88!!! Hope that baby hangs on until after your interview. And thanks for the well wishes (you too, spanglec). Unless they for some reason are still making calls tomorrow and I get called then, I'm thinking it's a no go. Best wishes to everyone who has made it to the interview round, hope you all get chosen and have much success at one of the top hospital's in the nation!
