Hey!! I thought I would start a thread for those of us applying for the Spring 2021 new grad residency program!! Anyone else apply??

I have almost the exact same story I have a great job I accepted but it’s adults and Peds is where my heart is!!

Ahhhh! See I'm stuck on whether I should accept it or not. I have an interview soon for peds but also don't want to go without a job if I don't get it!

I am in the same boat, I have two amazing hard to pass opportunities but they are both adults!

I had an instructor recommended to me to go ahead and accept the position but confirm with HR that you can rescind the offer at anytime with no penalty. When I talked to the lady in HR she said that it was no big deal and people do it all the time because plans change. I wouldn’t start that job until February so I have time to keep looking and I always have a great job in my back pocket if I can’t find my dream job!

I definitely think you should accept it! It's a tough market out there right now... Worst case scenario you get some experience under your belt at a great hospital and can transition to peds later! Best case scenario you rescind your offer and take a different peds opportunity. You have nothing to lose ?

I believe that they only consider one application (one unit) at a time...probably so that multiple units don't try to hire the same person..?  I interviewed for the NICU yesterday and my other two applications are still under review

@Student20199 how long after your application went to eval in progress did you get called for an interview?

Maybe a week? And I think it went well, may be a few weeks till I find out though.
