Childrens National DC Residency Fall 2020

Hi everyone! I didn't see a thread about the Children's National New Grad residency for fall 2020 so I thought I'd start one! I applied to the NICU and the site says I'm "under review", whatever that means. Anyone else apply? ?

Mine says under review too, but its been that way since I submitted it.

@jvt01 There's no description! It just changed to Evaluation in progress a few days ago. The rest of mine are still "under review"

I am so stressed about all these applications LOL. I've heard two "no's" already so I just want to land one interview you know? Or at least know for sure about them. Where else have you guys applied?

@jvt01 I feel you on that one. Do you mean "no's" from Children's or other places?

No's from other places, I really want to do a residency and they're not common in MA so I've had to cast a pretty wide net. And with this whole pandemic some residencies are just canceling entirely or delaying start dates ?

I'm stressed too! I've had one Interview at a hospital in Va that I got a no from. I'm just trying to stay positive. We’ll all get jobs soon enough.

I contacted Children’s National a week ago and they did confirm that they have a hiring freeze, but also said “things are always changing” so they don't know when they'll start interviewing.

I know some places are continuing to interview but just not officially hiring and/or delaying start dates. So maybe they'll interview and offer but push the start date until later in the fall. That's what I'm hoping anyway.

Hey guys! I applied to the NICU too and my status says evaluation in progress- fingers crossed! I actually work there now and we were told that, like everyone has said, they're in a hiring freeze but they would still interview and extend offers, it would just be contingent on the hiring freeze ending. So they'd basically say "we want to offer you a position starting September 21st (that's when they told me the NICU was starting) as long as the freeze ends by then. If it doesn't, you would start as soon as it's over". Hope this helps! Good luck to everyone- it sounds like there's a lot of us NICU people here LOL ?

Hey all! I know a few people who have gotten offers from CICU, ER, etc. Has anyone heard any updates from the PICU ? ? That is where I applied and have not heard back.
