I decided to create this thread for anyone applying to Children's Medical Center of Dallas for the July 2016 Nurse Residency Program! Good luck to everyone! If there are any current or past residents that would like to offer any advice, please feel free to do so!!!!! Good luck to everyone applying!

I applied to the residency program too! My status went inactive í ½í¸ž when y'all applied were y'all given an option on what floor y'all wanted to apply to? And for those who received an interview did y'all get a phone call or e-mail? Congratulations to those who received an interview

They ask which floors you are interested in during the phone screen. They called me first, then emailed me the video interview link after we spoke.

Yes, the recruiter asks which floors you are interested in and then will tell you whether or not they're available. I believe she's got a list of which ones are available.

Hey! Where did y'all find the list of floors that they have? I've only been able to find this really detailed list of their specialties https://www.childrens.com/for-healthcare-professionals/departments-institutes-programs

and then this very broad one:

  • 487 beds
  • 334 pediatric
  • 24 medical/surgical
  • 65 critical care
  • 36 NICU
  • 12-bed psych unit
  • more than 50 outpatient specialty centers
  • state-of-the-art emergency center

What are the 334 pediatric beds? Thanks! I just want to be prepared in case they call.

My roommates status was inactive and she started to get discouraged but received a call yesterday for the video interview! Don't give up hope just yet :)

Good luck to her! I would say to everyone do not get discouraged unless you've gotten a denial letter. It goes in waves and is certainly not over yet :).

I received a call as well today! DiD she email you the video interview directions immediately after? I am looking in my inbox and haven't found anything. I'm wondering if it got sent to the wrong email address or if I should wait to contact someone

For those who already went through the video interview, what type of questions were there? And how many?

Yes she did email them to me, but it took her a little while. Maybe she will email you tomorrow? If you don't get them by tomorrow around noonish, I would call her.

I got a call this evening too and the recruiter sent the email a few hours after our conversation. Good Luck to everyone!! :)
