Hello! Creating this thread for anyone who applied to the CHLA New Grad Residency for the September 2024 cohort. I just submitted my application! Hopefully, we can use this to provide support and update each other. Good luck! 🙂

thank you !!
I would recommend joining one of the info sessions before the next cohort, they said the specialized ICU's like NICCU and ED are the most competitive/sought after. Good luck!

I know applying for RN residencies is super stressful, and I'll be transparent with my experience in interviewing. I do believe having experience with the hospital helps, so if you can get your foot in the door by maybe volunteering and getting to know the people on the unit such as the managers would possibly be helpful. Coming from my experience, I was able to complete my preceptorship at the hospital, and have heard they do hire a lot of people already working there such as their care partners. Align your interview answers with their values! Not sure how previous hospital experience plays into your chances, but me personally I did not have a lot of community/volunteer involvement but I did have recent experience as a pediatric CNA already. Best of luck to you 🙂

Hi! If this is your 1st interview it'll be the same questions as the essay responses that you submitted. Good luck!!

also good luck to you on landing 2 interviews! That's amazing ❤️
Hi! Not sure if anyone still sees responses on this forum anymore but I'm reaching out because I have an 2nd interview with CV acute tomorrow and wanted some advice to prepare for the interview! I know it's been a while but do you remember what kind of questions they asked? or just general questions to prepare?
