Just wanted to start a thread as there appears to be some from the past. Has anyone else applied for the August 2014 cohort? I would love to hear and keep in contact with other current applicants as well as those from the past.
Below is the program timeline for August 2014:
o March 28 - April 7: Positions posted
o May 12 - May 16: Select/notify applicants to interview
o June 9 - June 20: Interviews
o August 18: Start of program
For purposes of discussion:
o Are you from Colorado or planning on moving?
o Previous experience working in pediatrics?
o What units are you most interested in?
Hope to hear from others soon!
My status hasn't changed yet and no call. I'm trying to remain optimistic and thinking they haven't finished calling yet. Especially since the dates said a week they would notify people. So the hope hasn't diminished yet. Plus who knows the order they are calling. It isn't over until the fat lady sings!
I think no news is good news! They must have so many people to call and get in touch with so I wouldn't lose hope. Especially because it's the weekend. I know the waiting game is hard though
Having an optimistic look at things is always a great idea. I know that so many of us are really hoping for positions like this, and I wish there was room for everyone. As bad as I want a position like this, I am excited for those who may get the position over me. But, yes, it's definitely not the end yet.
Plus, since I just moved here for the fiance (got engaged on the way down here! Pinning, engagement, and move all in a week!!!) Anyone that ends up here or is already here, feel free to contact me and we can always meet up! I love being social and meeting new people.
Plus, us new grads need to stick together! I know if it wasn't for some of my fellow nursing students I've met across the country, I would have struggled so much more in school. Might as well support each other, regardless of where we end up.
And, I'm in awe of a few of you! Going overseas for medical missions. I want to do that so bad!! I actually have my BA in Anthropology, and have studied medical anthropology, and that just fascinates me. I would love to learn more!!
One day, I will have the means and opportunities to go overseas. Until then, I would love to lament in some of your stories.
Hi, my husband and I moved to colorado in december, but I still feel pretty new =) I applied as well, and I haven't heard anything after the email stating that my application was being forwarded on. I thought I had read that everyone would hear back either way, wether you were accepted or declined. Has anyone heard anything about this?
I just spoke to someone in HR and she said they're a few days behind with the calls for interviews, and they aren't done! She said don't lose hope just yet, they'll be making calls all week :) She told me we should hear something soon, but it wasn't clear if she meant we'd hear either way (sorry I hadn't seen the latest posts or I would've clarified!)

My status has not changed. No call for me. I could see them leaving some people open for options, should they not get what they want in the first batch of interviews, or, should people decline interviews for whatever reason.
