I just thought I would start a thread for individuals applying to the new graduate nurse residency program at Children's Hospital Colorado for the March 2019 cohort. This can be a place to meet others, share which units you are applying for, and stay informed about the application process.

Hello!

I applied to the March 2019 program and just had an interview for the Denver location this last week! I am not sure how I feel about the interview! It was hard! I went out there from California! Either way, it was worth the risk of flying out there! It is my dream career and an amazing hospital. How did the interview go for you, Micmartin5?

I interviewed almost 2 weeks ago! It was a tough interview, not sure how I feel about it. Has anyone heard back with an offer yet?

Hey guys! I have an interview in Colorado Springs in a few days. They were super late about calling for interviews there. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for the interview? For those of you who said it was hard, how so? I wish you all the best of luck! :)

I haven't heard anything since my interview. I hope I hear soon though! If I get it, I would be moving from CA!

dknurse07: They asked behavioral questions that I didn't expect- kind of hard to think of specific situations for. There was also a written scenario exam.

I know some people have been starting to hear back (some with offers and some for rejections- all were from the same unit), but still haven't heard anything myself (I interviewed for the 6th floor) Fingers crossed for everyone

Thanks for the info! Do you know what unit they interviewed for? Mine was for NICU/4th floor. What is on the 6th floor??

I interviewed for the 7th floor on January 16th and received an offer January 25. Did anyone else receive offers? I'd love to get to know others who will be part of the new grad cohort!

Be prepared for behavioral-based questions (i.e. Tell me an example of when...). Definitely know about the hospital, the new grad program, and the unit you are applying to. In addition, be prepared for a written portion (critical thinking scenario questions) after the verbal interview. Good luck!
