:) Hello All,
I am a student nurse starting my peds rotation today and am faced with needing to do a teaching project. It needs to be geared towards school aged childeren.
Anyone have an topic ideas? Sample projects? Any suggestions at all would help as I am completely lost.
Thanks,

What age specifically? Start from there and see what you come up with. Think of where the child is developmentally and what things to kids do and need at this age. Maslow might be another good place to start.
I can think of about 5 things off the top of my head but this work needs to be your own and not ours.
Thanks for the information.....I was already working in that direction. Just to clarify I was not asking for anyone to do my work for me.....i was simply asking for suggestions of topics that one has had success with.
Thanks.

What age group are you thinking about doing?
There is Sun Safety, Hand washing, Animal Safety (like when they see a stray dog), Healthy Eating, Staying Active, Helmet Safety.
These are some topics I see geared towards the younger kids.
I did mine for teens and educated teen moms.
I was really interested in doing some Diabetes education to the 8th graders but I heard back from the teen mom lady first. But my 8th grader had never heard of diabetes and it's something rising in pre teens and teens, also helps with students understanding those with type 1 if they see them with pumps, or having to get insulin and so on.

Did mine on handwashing and used the Glitterbug lotion. They loved it.
