Chemistry...

This semester I am taking Chem 101, ethics, and developmental psych. Chemistry intimidates me and I am wondering if I should drop psych... I can apply to the RN program april 1st for the spring 2019 start but I must maintain a C or better in Chem for this to happen. My chemistry teach is hard and grades on a curve...if I drop I will spend my fall semester taking micro, physiology, developmental psych. Thoughts? Thanks!

Will you be working while taking these courses? I would rather take chem, ethics, and dev psych than micro, AP, and dev psych. Always prepare your mind for an A before the semester even starts. Create a great study system and be super ahead of the game before class

I had never taken chemistry in my life when I took it and didn't find it that difficult, especially if it's just chem 101. I found people that are comfortable with math are also pretty good at chem, especially the inorganic part. If math is a problem then it might be tougher, but it's still not a terrible class.

If you are struggling in chemistry, you may also struggle when you try to take physio and micro together. When you get right down to it, all of life's processes are chemistry, and a number of chemistry concepts are covered in physiology in particular. How would you rate your science skills in general? Is this the first science course you've taken since high school?

You've also presumably just started the semester and you are already concerned that you're not going to be able to earn a C. Have you had any quizzes or tests yet? Have you talked with the professor? Have you evaluated how much time you're spending on the course and how you're studying? If you don't figure these things out, it won't matter if you drop psych now.

I would really evaluated whether you're going to be able to handle physio and micro together. Those are two intensive classes that you'd also probably like to earn good grades in, and if you're struggling with Chem 101, I'm concerned.

I wish you the best.
