Chemistry requierment

Published

Hello, This is my first post. I need to take Chemistry. It is the only class I need to get into the LPN Bridge program at STLCC. I have applied to Lutheran but was denied because of a poor transcript from when I was 18. I have since retaken all those classes and made A's and B's, have completed LPN with A's and B's. I can not seem to get through Chem. I have tried twice. My question- is there any way to get into a RN program without Chem? I am going to try it again this fall any help on how to get through would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Cosmo

I took a really good chemistry teacher at stlcc! She really took time to help the students understand the material better. If you wanna know the teacher send me an email.

Chemistry is tough but I enjoyed it and made an A in my class. However, my class started out with 24 students and only 12 of us were left on the day of the final exam. I think only myself and one other student made an A, so Chemistry is tough for most people. What I would suggest is taking Chemistry by itself or only with not-so-tough subjects that are not math based. Some people, such as myself, find that taking Chemistry and Algebra together proves to be too stressful. At my college and every college in my area, Chemistry is a required pre req and you may not even apply to the nursing program until it is complete. I just got accepted into the RN program at my college, and believe me it was tough getting there. Just don't give up, you can do it :)

I was pre-med chemistry many moons ago. I got through Chemistry, Biology, Physics by reading the text books and then re-reading it again and going through the chapter end questions. For me it was just as simple as that. Not saying that those classes were simple but it just took me getting all of the material into my brain so I could pounder it for a minute before the test.

There were not many study help books back then. So fast forward humm some years when I took A&P 1 and 2 and Micro I bought the Made Easy study book series and they helped a whole bunch. I did not have time to read the chapters twice like I did before when I was a Chem major because I was working full-time. I did very well in all three classes. If you are determined and stay focused you can do it.
