how to write a science paper
Well, I begin my second out of three chemistry classes I have to take for nursing. This class is called "Intro to General, Organic and Biochemistry" and begins on Monday, August 25th. I already tried to take this class last Fall and dropped it because I had an instructor who barely spoke English and also spoke with my advisor who advised me to take Basic Chemistry first (which I did last Spring and got an A.) since I did not have chemistry in high school (wish I had known this before I even attempted the class.) Hopefully, this go around will be better. My schedule states a different instructor's name (and it appears that he may speak English.) I just pray to God that he speaks good English. If he does, I think I will do okay. I am still a little nervous.
Good luck to all. Thanks to those who have posted the links to chem websites. I am sure I will be using them. Hopefully we can help each other out and all make it through with flying colors
Hi all! im taking Intro to General, Organic and Biochemistry also starting sept 2.im really nervous tho' i passed A&P 1 & 2 and microbio w/ flying colors, im just as scared as some of you are.i just hope i can ask some of you here if there's anything that i can't understand. goodluck to us all and hoping to get an A on this one too. Im taking Child psych this fall also.
I'm sure you'll do fine, CracklinRose, you've prepared so don't psych yourself out. I, on the other hand, was not emotionally prepared. My intermediate Chem class started the same day my close friend passed away. I managed to sit through the lecture that evening, but I was helping out the family during the lab on Wednesday. Luckily, I ran into someone from class who confirmed that he just went over safety procedures. No worries regarding the class for me because my professor seems understanding. I'm studying for the quiz tonight and have all day tomorrow to review before night class. I've been more determined in the past week then I've ever been to get through these pre-reqs and learning process. It'll allow me to possibly understand what went wrong during my friend's hospital treatment from a scientific point of view.

I am so sorry for your loss...let me know if there's anything I can do to help!
OK, well I start my Chem lab class tonight from 7-10:30p and lecture will be tomorrow from 7-10:20p. I've read the various Chemistry help links ( I really like how Chemtutor.com breaks stuff down) as well as the first two chapters of my book: General Organic and Biological Chemistry 5th ed. by McMurray. The book seems to have a nice flow. I'm just super nervous about the math and problem solving. I'm really trying to have only positive thoughts about Chemistry. My professor has already stated in his success in chemistry handout that we need to expect to spend an average of 9 hours a week on this. ------Oh boy!!!
I'll keep ya'll posted.

They say for college courses you are supposed to spend 2-3 hours studying for every hour you are in class.
So for example, my chemistry class has 3hrs of lecture and 4hrs of lab per week. This would mean 14-21 hours of studying per week! If you only are reccomended 9 to succeed, consider yourself LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY!
Good Luck! I had my first lectures last week and my first lab yesterday, so far it has been pretty basic. I'm waiting for it to get harder.
