Hi All. I spent a great deal of time trying to get all my **** appropriately pre-approved too. The entire thing was massively delayed due to numerous unanswered emails from OU nursing, as usual. After being told that I was going to be 4-5 credits short of the 120 required for degree conferral, I am already in the process of taking my music appreciation, and personal health (for additional elective credit) at CCC this semester. I requested pre-approval for fundamentals of personal well being (for more elective credits), as well as CHEM 113- thanks to all of you! ( I was previously told that I had to take CHEM 151, by OU, and nothing else would do, and CCC wanted me to take a placement exam, or all these algebra pre-req classes to take it. ) This time around, after writing to one of the associate deans, since no one else would answer me, I got CHEM 113 pre-approved!!! Thank You Everyone!!!! I'm now registered to start in January with the rest of you. Just for your amusement- can't even begin to explain how FURIOUS I am- they did NOT approve the fundamentals of personal well being class, because, apparently, they "forgot" to put 20 transfer credits on my DARS, from my LPN program/license!!!! I never needed to take ANY extra credits at all!!! We are paying these idiots to educate us.... Ridiculous!!!!

I just registered for the class starting in January. Can someone please explain what I need to do to get course approval from Ohio? I am so confused!

I always emailed my advisor the exact course description (copied and pasted) from the course I planned to take. They forwarded it to the appropriate person for approval and I got an email reply.

The process may have changed but even if everyone else is taking the exact course you plan to take, get it in writing and keep that email until you have your diploma in hand!

Wow, so sorry.... I am sure you are upset, as I would be.

Are you still in CHEM 113?

I'll be starting it in January. I'm VERY Thankful to everyone on here who told me about 113, instead of 151! Now my idiot of an advisor is telling me to complete the transient pre-approval process for it. I already submitted the forms TWICE and have an email from associate dean telling me that they will accept it... Soooooooo tired of these people!!! CHEM 113, NRSE 4550 & NRSE 4600 starting in January, then I'm DOOOOOONE!!!

Take heart. As far as I can tell, the nursing classes are the only ones that are so incredibly screwed up. The others I have taken have not been like this. There are actually professors that have a brain cell, and will actually interact with you. I took writing for recreation (as my upper division comp class) this past summer, and the prof was great! Statistics too- I'm not a math person, and spent the whole time ( nearly ) crying, but prof was great, and I ended up with an A-. Music appreciation @ CCC also great... As much as I want to strangle every, single person that tells me " don't worry, it will go by SO fast"- it really does. I started out needing 16 classes, in Fall 2012, and now I'm almost done... Hang in there! If for no other reason, just for spite, I'll finish!

Thanks for the encouragement shadowangel. I am in too deep to quit now, although I'd love to. I keep thinking about the cost of this to my family. Not the financial only, but the emotional... all the time away from them, the lack of quality time b/c mom is thinking about how much homework there is, or b/c mom was up till 2am writing a paper and reviewing it 15 times before submitting it. It takes a toll for sure.

But, I think of it this way, I'm 2/3 of the way done, so I will finish.
