Is anyone here taking chemistry at Clovis community college this summer? It starts next week and just want to see if anyone is going to be suffering with me!

Easy stuff you can do at home with materials you already have....I remember doing a lot of them with my 5 year old son.

Labs are simple. Taking it now. I do them with my kids, easy to type up report. I get 100 every time. Final Exam needs to be proctored and it days only one card or sheet of notes plus chart of elements, can't take everything in with you.

Thanks for the update. I am going to try to take it in Spring ( starting January). I tried to register, but it wouldn't let me. I don't think registration is open until November.

We will have to wait until Summer- they do plan to offer it then. However, I have been given a hard time about pre-requisite algebra or Acuplacer testing, even though others have said they had no problem, and just registered and took the class. I wrote to the prof, who advised to speak with Advisement office to see if they will allow me to register without algebra (last took "math" in high school in the 80's) or placement exam. Since I couldn't take it this past summer, because they insisted on the algebra or testing, I took Statistics instead. I plan to plead my case to be waivered in on the basis that I survived Statistics with minimal anti-anxiety agents, and finished with an A-, without placement testing or algebra within 5 years. If I can do that, I should be able to do this too. Let me know what they tell you, and I'll do the same...

Oh oh....... this screws up my plans. I hope there is no math. I don't understand why I was allowed to register for it last summer, but not now.
jmath, did you have to take a math?
Hey ShadowAngel, I just looked. The chem course is 113 not 152.
113 is the basic Chem course. I had an email that it was approved, but I can't find it now. So I resent it to be extra sure it is approved for transfer credit.
I can't register until Nov 3rd.
Here is the course information
][COLOR=black]Chemistry for General Education and Lab - 10085 - CHEM 113 - 1N0
January 13 to May 19th Online Prof Larry Don Powell
Registration opens Nov 3rd.

Cincinursemary, let me know how it goes. I will probably take it in August which will be my last class. I am dreading it so much that I am putting it off until the last moment!
No. I didn't send them any transcripts. Just registered for the college and class. It was so easy. In the class within 2 hours of registering. I even did it the day after the class started. :)

I just registered for the class starting in January. Can someone please explain what I need to do to get course approval from Ohio? I am so confused!
I emailed my advisor and he sent me a form to complete... which I sort of did. But it is not user friendly. I just got an email back that it is approved
" Your Transient Pre-Approval Form has been processed, and your request has been approved. If you successfully complete CHEM 113 at Clovis Community College it can transfer as CHEM 1210".
Please let me know if you have any questions or if you need a letter of good standing in order to register.
Transfer Credit
I bet you don't have to do anything, just submit the transcript when we are done. I registered too, so we can go through this together.
