Chemeketa LPN to RN- anyone trying to get in?

Published

Is anyone else trying to get into the Chemeketa LPN to RN program?

If so, are you on the list already?  How long have you been waiting?

I took the Kaplan transition exam this morning.  Hoping to get on the list.  Curious what happens from here.

dang who did you talk to? the lady I spoke to didn't make it sound it was that many. I would imagine that's an exaggeration. I would hope LOL I am sure a lot of people find other programs in the meantime that would then help you move ahead on the list hopefully! Those are great grades! I bet you have a great chance of getting placed high on the waitlist. Hopefully others on the list see this and reply as well as I am really not much help LOL

That's the boat I am in. I applied to the local community college last June and didn't get in, so now I am considering other options. I plan to apply again but would like to have a back up plans. But waiting a year each time in between definitely sucks.

Yeah for sure. That's that I heard as well. And that if a RN Student couldn't continue to the second year that they automatically get dibs on spots over the LPN students as well.

Oh okay! I couldn't remember if it was 70% or 77% I have looked into a lot of different programs lately LOL

I have seen a lot of people on here talking about a online program called International College of Health Sciences. It's an online program in Florida. I have been looking into it further to ensure its legit. I am hoping to find someone from the west coast who's completed it and got licensed.

The first year class has 32 students in it currently. They have hired 3-4 new second year staff members which means a possibility of 16 people can join. That being said I’m not sure how they will move instructors around because our year only 32 were accepted due to instructors retiring. But hopefully this is a little bit of hope for you all. Good luck, the program is amazing

Oh wow that’s a much smaller class than I thought. Did they mention that hiring more instructors means they will actually add more second-year LPNs? Wasn’t sure if they were actually going to try to fill all those 16 spots?

are you currently in the program?

Hi Angela,

Did you get into the program? No I am not currently in it. I was trying to do one that was closer to me but have not been successful at getting in. They only allow 8 students a year. I am thinking of taking these courses Winter term at Chemeketa.

Was the Kaplan there the Kaplan nursing entrance exam?

Did you get in? I spoke to someone last week and it doesnt sound like there is currently a lot of students on the waitlist.
