Just thought I would start a thread to see who else applied to Chemeketa. We should receive our scores in the next few weeks. The suspense is hard. I also applied to OHSU's BSN program.
gkneez - I was in the same position with Chemketa last year. I was told there were 30 of us with perfect scores who didn't even get on the alternate list because it came down to drawing names out of a hat.
WOW. You were just really unlucky. That honestly sucks! I bet scoring the essay will help with that... ::crosses fingers::
Hello,
I've asked myself this question a 1000 times. I don't think anyone of us could give you the correct answer. I'm guessing that it is "equally both." I keep going over my essay in my head hoping it is good enough. I've been looking for my score everyday, actually a few times a day Good Luck, and try not to stress. This is coming from someone who is stressing at the moment...lol!
Julie,
I know that they deduct points if you don't follow the directions on the essay. They also take off points for showing up late to the essay. I got to my essay super early, so I had some time to observe. While I was there I saw 4 people who showed up late. I didn't show up early for that particular reason, I just didn't want to be late myself.

The lady who gave the instructions told us that following the directions counted for half of the score....but who knows.

This is Chemeketa's first year of scoring essay's. Last year they just used the essay as a tie-breaker???? I hated it because I had a perfect score but wasn't offered a position or an alternate number. I really do not know if I bombed the essay last year or not.
