Cheating in nursing school

I am so upset! I overheard a group of three girls cheating on a test in class (they sit right behind me) and said something to a friend of mine who sits next to me. The girls who were cheating thought I ratted them out to the teacher, so they got mad at me and started a bunch of drama. Then the one who I thought was my friend was mad at me for "making too big of a deal out of this". I can't believe this mentality. I didn't rat them out to the teacher, but even if I would have, they are the ones that cheated. I just can't believe that so many of them are sticking together and they all think it's o.k. to cheat. I can't believe they are the ones that cheated and I'm the one to be treated like s**t. It seems like cheating is acceptable now, and no one thinks it is any big deal.

Whoooooo! I feel so much better. Thanks for listening!

Thank You all for the replies. I am just focusing on my education and forgetting about them, it is just hard sometimes. I agree that I should focus on my education. One of them is in my clinical group, but I don't think she will be my partner.

Have a great day and thanks again!

Normally I would say ignore it but at my school its an honor code violation if you know that someone is violating the honor code and you dont' do something about it...so I guess if I were in the situation I'd have to tell but it does get crazy!

Wow, sorry to hear you had to go through all that childish drama. I think the school needs to get a better way of monitoring the exams though. At my school they are real strict about where we all sit, we have to have at least 1 chair in between each of us, no talking at all, have to leave our backpacks, purses, etc at the back of the classroom. I've never heard anyone talking to each other, not only would it bother me to know they were cheating but the talking would bother and distract me!

And like the others have said .... the cheating will only hurt them in the long run, if they make it to the NCLEX and fail ... and they'll deserve just that.

Specializes in Hey I'm now an RN!!.

in a class of mine just last week we were set up at individual stations, 2 rooms and the instructor looking between each room for our test. as soon as he went to the next room the 2 next to me talked very quickly and scribbled there compared answers...this went on through the whole test...i never said anything, they got their good hard earned grades:uhoh3: , but i figure in the long run i actually learned this stuff and it will benefit me...wheareas my peers will be sinking. such a shame.
