It seems that I have a million books to buy for next semester and summer. Are online places going to be cheaper than my school bookstore, and if so what are the best sites. Thanks

I did really well on ebay and half.com 2 weeks after the begining of the semester ... when the demand is down. But I am only taking prereqs for the nursing program, so I could afford to wait. I got all of my books for 60.00 where they would have cost me at least 3 times that using ebay and half.com 2 weeks before hand

You'll never find anything more expensive than the school bookstore. One of the only advantage to buying at the college bookstore is knowing your getting the exact book you need. When you start buying used books outside of the institution be very-very-very careful your getting the correct book. The school bookstore will also be greater documentation if your employed by someone that pays for your books. I was lucking enough to work for such a place. Also remember the college bookstore will generally buy most books back at the end of the semester.

I use Barnes and Noble online entirely for my textbooks.
Free shipping for orders over $25 (like you're gonna have any books cheaper than that....LOL), and no sales tax. The tax savings alone for me was over 8%.
The books came right to the door, they never got an order wrong, and the prices were competitive.
Good luck!

Parklandtrauma,
I sent you a PM.
Forgot to mention that returns are easy--you can take them to the local B&N.

I like http://www.campusi.com which searches and compares virtually every bookstore on the web.
