Chattanooga state rn fall 2016 hopefuls?

Published

I was just wondering if there is anyone else hoping to get in to Chattanooga State's RN Program for 2016? Looking for a group of members willing to share our experiences, concerns and progress while hopefully becoming the Nursing Cohort for fall 2016!

Same here. I can honestly say I have a love hate relationship with math. The things that I actually understand can be fun but it's rare that understand any of it and I always pull the same B average and I have to work very hard just to get that. Do you remember who you took for that class?

I took TC for statistics. I really liked her.

Great. I'll check it out. What's the difference between ROPD and online classes and which do you guys prefer ?

I've never taken rodp. I've only taken chatt state online classes.

Just checking in with everyone. I turned in my application a few weeks ago and felt sick afterwards. Lol. I just finished up a&p2 and lifespan psych. I should have 86.89 nursing points if I calculated correctly. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm new here! I sent my application in around Thanksgiving for fall '16 and I currently have 88.75 points if i calculated correctly. This is my 2nd time applying- I've been at UTC for the past 2 years, but transferred to Chatt State during the summer and took lifespan psych & nutrition. When I originally applied (hoping to have started this semester) I had less than 80 points because of not being able to include 3 classes, not really studying for the teas test, and having a C in anatomy & physiology when I took them at UTC. I retook A&P1 and Micro this semester and did much better. I also retook the teas in November after studying and improved my score. I'm thinking about studying even more over Christmas break and taking the test a 3rd time since I can still improve my score and I want to feel secure with my total points since this is my 2nd time applying..I don't want to wait another year!

88.75 is great, IMO. I felt okay about having 86.89 until the last few days. I can't really do anything to improve my points accept to take the TEAS again and hope I do better. I have a 90.25 for my composite score on the TEAS. So I'm not sure taking it again will be much help.

My advisor said anything above 86 total points should get you in..the cutoff hasn't been above 86 in the past 5 years! So really both of us should make it in. My composite score is 88.1 so if I could raise it just a little I could be at 90 points. I think I'd feel better with at least 90 points just so I can say I did everything I could this 2nd time around. Maybe I'm just worrying too much.

I just really don't want to wait a year and apply again. It's my first time applying. I'm nervous and wish I could fast forward to April. This years was 84.95 and I thought the year before's lowest was 86.55

We were notified towards the end of March about the fall '15 class. It's unsettling that the lowest points they take could be really low or really high instead of staying around this year's averages. I don't want to pay $65 again if I really don't need to, but I won't know for sure until it's too late :/

I don't want to either but I may have to. My advisor said I should be fine with my points, but I'm still really nervous. I just don't know if it's possible to increase my TEAS score and I don't want to waste $65 trying.

That's what mine told me and I feel the exact same way about the test.
