Chattahoochee Tech ASN Fall 2015

Who has applied to CTC for Fall 2015 ASN?

I noticed last year's group on allnurses, and I thought I'd start us off with a thread for Fall 2015 hopefuls.

I interviewed and praying I score high to make up my 71 on my TEAS. I also have B's in my AP classes, but A's in labs. Micro I got a B in class and labs and my optional core classes I got 50 out of the possible 60 points. Going in with 206 points isn't making things look bright for me. I didn't receive a letter for PN program. So frustrating.

Hello everyone! Just came across this page and was so excited to see it! I interviewed Tuesday, it was one of the most awkward interviews I have ever had, they were all so hard to read and I was a nervous wreak. I am still keeping my fingers crossed for an invitation though.

Well I just looked on my fridge (Cause thats where my acceptance letter still is :) and it is dated June 30th. Not sure when we interviewed.. I think it was about the same time as you guys. I was expecting an email.. only to hear from people on here that they got a snail mail letter.

So what I remember about the interview questions.. was that most of them related to out of school commitments, if you were going to work or not and things like that about how much time you would have. Did you guys get the same thing? Just curious

I got a few of those, " what are your commitments?" questions and they did seem to be the most important to them.

They asked what outside commitments I had, which is only my job and family. I mentioned I only have one child who is almost 14 so he is more dependent now.. Then later near the end a different person asked me how many hours will I be working at my job, which I only work 3 days a week - 15-20 hours, but I told them I am financially prepared to quit if my school and work schedule conflict which I am...

They asked me the committments question as well...

I guess this week I will be stalking my mailbox... Whoever hears anything first needs to let us all know asap! :)

Hey guys! I had my interview on Thursday at 10:30. I arrived really early at about 9:30 and they took me back at 9:40 for the interview. All of the people on the panel seemed really nice when they were interviewing me. I think I did well answering the questions. I practiced some responses to common interview questions before the interview and I think that really helped. A few questions did catch me off guard, but I answered them as best I could. It was a little bit nerve wracking, but at the same time when I stumbled over my words I kind of just smiled and said "sorry I'm really nervous." They of course asked me about my outside commitments. I'm only 22 and I don't have any kids. I don't have a job and still live at home, and my grandparents have helped me out tremendously (as far as finances go) throughout college. I told them that I didn't have any outside commitments and I had the full financial support and just general support of my family and I told them that Chattahoochee Tech's nursing program will be my number one priority the entire time I'm in the program if I'm accepted. I really hope I get accepted! I'm so anxious waiting to find out.

Here's my info:

A&P 1: A

A&P 1 Lab: A

Math: B

English: A

Psychology: A

Intro to Computers: B

A&P 2: A

A&P 2 Lab: B (I had a 89.7 but Dr. Miller doesn't believe in rounding up!)

Sociology: A

Intro to Humanities: A

I haven't taken Microbiology yet

TEAS SCORE: 78.7

So I'm going in with a 223.7 without the interview results.

I'm really excited about Chattahoochee moving to the Paulding campus. I live only about 10-15 minutes away and that's the campus I usually go to.

I'm wishing everyone on here the best of luck to get in too! I hope to meet you all at the orientation if we get in. Fingers crossed!

Ughhhhhh...Waiting is torture. I keep hoping and praying my interview made up some points for my B's in my science classes.. I got A's in my labs...

Hey everyone, I'm Jennifer also in the current class with Eddie and on the student counsel. Our acceptances came in the mail the Friday before the 4th of July last year. I remember this because I had to wait an extra week to get mine due to the holiday! (I had moved and changed my address with student affairs but not health sciences.) Good luck to everyone! Hope to see you all at orientation!

Hello future nurses! I just wanted to pop in and say hi to all of you and wish you luck! Eddie told us that a few of you were on all nurses and I remember the weeks of waiting that we all did last year. It's crazy but your wait is almost over! Like next week or something?? We have several new instructors along with a new campus so things are always changing during nursing school. Being flexible is one of the biggest things we learn as nurses, nothing stays the same. For the 35-40 of you that get those acceptance letters just know that you can always approach a senior for information or help with something. They will offer you a mentor and many of the student council members will be mentoring juniors during the 1st semester. Keep focused and don't let anyone scare you. You have came this far and you can finish it!!! If they didn't tell you several of the seniors will have their uniform tops for sale as well as a ton of books. You will only use the white tops 2 semesters then you will switch to a blue top. Donna

tnvols4me don't worry too much about a few B's. I think the interview is a huge chunk of their decision. They are looking for dedicated, dependable, level headed, and driven, but yet, compassionate souls to fill their seats. You just needed to answer the questions honestly and let them know what kind of individual you are. Some of the situational interview questions are past experiences that went all wrong causing discord in the ranks and they don't want a repeat situation in the future (or at least that was true for our interview questions).

I hope you are right. I felt my interview went well because they were writing a lot and some were shaking their heads up and down as if they agreed with my answer..At least I am praying they were agreeing. When I started back to school, I was struggling and talked to a girlfriend about my struggles. I would study so hard, but I could not retain any information. She said it sounded to her I have ADD because she has ADD. I went to 2 different doctors and both said I do have ADD. After I started taking medication, my grades got better. I hope i i don't have to retake classes that have a B...
