Does anyone know what immunizations we need.

If you guys have two days of orientation like we did then you'll have to have your drug test and background check done before the second day. Everything else you should have till the first day of class to do. That is how it worked for us anyway. You'll need your vaccine records or titers done to show immunity (or both). I think we had to have proof of the normal ones MMR, Varicella etc.. I had to get titers done because I'm 41 and didn't have record of those. If you show not immune on your titers you'll need to get the vaccines. I had to get Varicella even though I had chicken pox when I was a kid I wasn't showing immune. You'll also need Hep B and that series takes a while to finish but you should get it started as soon as possible. You'll also need a PPD test done and a Flu shot before your clinical rotation starts (I don't think the new flu shots for the next year come out till sometime in August). They will cover all the requirements in orientation the first day!

I was wondering about a Immunizations also. Thanks for sharing that info, I plan on getting a doctors appointment on August 3 and class doesn't start till August 17 so I hope that's soon enough

Does anyone know how long orientation lasts for both days? Just curious. I heard from someone who said they heard that they think it will last till 2:30.

It seems they are some great, knowledgeable students on here so I want to ask my question here. I am a pre nursing student at Georgia Highlands. I will be applying in April 2016. I live in Dallas so the Floyd campus (which I am driving to now for Microbiology) is 40.6 miles one way! I am seriously considering applying to Chatt techs program because it is SO much closer! I wanted to talk to the students first to see how things were going and I also wanted to ask if anyone knows anything about the accreditation? I think I understand it that once you graduate you can only work in the state of Georgia, is this correct? I am sorry for coming here to ask these questions but I'm not so sure that I can trust my adviser at Georgia Highlands when discussing this issue. Also how often does Chatt let you apply, is it once a year like Highlands? and when is the next date, if anyone knows. I sincerely thank you for taking the time to read and answer my questions.
