Charity SON 2010 health requirements

Published

I was just wondering has anyone began with getting their physicals and shots done for the Spring semester. I just didn't know when to start. All the paperwork is due on Nov.2 but the TB test has to be 6 weeks before the start of class. So just asking for some advice on the matter when should I began....

I'm about to start my 2nd semester and when I was going thru all the health requirements I had everything done before I went for advising. At advising my advisor told me that I should wait on getting the PPD test until that December. If you have any questions contact the person over health (can't say names on here). She is also over the evening division, so she is a pretty busy woman. Email her or try to stop in and see her. Getting someone on the phone at Charity is almost impossible to do! Good luck!

ive started already. the hep b shots take 6 months. i haven't done my physical yet and i still have titers to get.

they're usually pretty cool with not being finished before with the hep b series before classes start as long as you've had the 2nd shot. I know of people who had to get a titer because they weren't finished with the series before the semester started. I spoke with the school about it and didn't have to get a titer because my 3rd dose was administered 2 weeks before the semester started. You all still have plenty of time to get the health requirements done. Just make sure the meet all deadlines with the school and always get something in writing if they say it is okay past the Nov 2nd deadline or any deadline for that matter.

I start in January 2010 and I got my physical last week. Spoke to someone at Charity at she told me that alot of people have already turned in the medical forms. She said by August would be a good time! So, Im just waiting to get my physical papers back now. Glad I already got the 3 series Hep! Does anyone know when we should get the CPR license? I told in December but I just wanted to see what everyone else did!

Thanks :)

I got mine in January right before classes started, but December is good. You want it to cover the entire 2 years so you don't have to go get recertified in the middle of everything else that is going on.

Depending on your doctor you might want to get your physical done asap. I saw the nurse practitioner and she had to leave it for the doctor to sign off so it's taking forever. The shots are no big deal but some office's don't have them, they will send you somewhere else.

I think you should double check your advising packet... TB skin test should be done no earlier than December 1st for sure.
