Hello everyone, I know the application date is not till August but I am already nervous and stressed about getting accepted to CSN for spring 2017. Anyone else applying this August?
So I'm freaking out and emailed someone at Charity but waiting on a reply and was wondering if anyone here could help me out. So I was in the LPN program lasts spring which was my second semester and I did not pass my med surge class I ended up with a D in it, and it was worth like 16 credit hours so it brought down my "Delgado GPA" under a 2.0 so I was put on academic probation. I took two online classes over the summer and made A's in both and I just got an email today saying I am still on academic probation because Im still under a 2.0 and I don't see how. But anyway besides the two online classes I took this semester, the only classes I have ever taken at Delgado were the LPN program classes. All my other classes came from Nicholls State University and Nunez Community College. My overall GPA of all institutions attended combined is a 2.9 I believe and my CSN curriculum GPA is well over a 3.0. And my profile score as of right now is an 80. So what I am scared of is that my academic standing for my Delgado only GPA is under a 2.0 and they have me on academic probation and I am terrified that it will affect my chances of getting in to the RN Spring class. But my Delgado GPA classes have nothing to do with classes that go towards the CSN RN program. Like I said my overall from every college attended is almost 3.0. I just don't know how much they look at your Delgado only GPA and academic standing.
I know the paperwork says you must have a Delgado GPA of a 2.0 or better, however, The profile score sheet only asks for cumulative GPA and CSN (classes taken that are required for charity curriculum ) it doesn't ask about Delgado GPA at all. With an 80 profile score I think you have an excellent chance of getting in. I would definitely apply. I know this whole process is nerve wracking. Keep us updated if they message you back!
I received an email back and all it said was yes it is a requirement to have a Delgado GPA of 2.0 if applicable. I am running up to charity now before they close today to get some help cause emailing isn't giving me any info. So stressed I have everything else in place and then this happens
So it seems like they won't budge on the Delgado GPA thing and keep saying it has to be a 2.0. It's so stressful cause I have every single pre req done, I have an associate's degree in natural sciences, have a cumulative GPA of 2.9 and a CSN curriculum GPA of 3.2. And have a profile score of an 80. The Delgado GPA has nothing to do with the profile score and my Delgado GPA is only so low because of my LPN med surge class that I made a D in which dropped me to a 1.94 Delgado GPA that needs to be a 2.0. My med surge class alone was worth 16 credit hours, that is why it affected my Delgado GPA so bad. But other than the LPN classes, I have never taken classes at Delgado before. All my other classes come from two other colleges and make up my cumulative GPA which is good along with my CSN GPA which is also really good. And then this "Delgado GPA" is what is standing in my way all of a sudden. But if it doesn't go through, I can just return to the LPN program in the spring and bridge to RN later. It just makes me so upset that I have literally everything for the RN and one little thing that I cannot change is affecting me and it really has nothing to do with the classes for the RN program. I'm going to turn in my application for RN anyway next week and just see what happens. This Nursing journey has been a long and stressful one but I just can't give up I feel so close.

I have that book and it wasn't good for the A&P or biology. I made a 73 my first time and have been studying like crazy since. I take it again on the 9th I'm praying for an 80 or better. Good Luck to you. I pray we all get in.
