Did anyone here apply for the LSUHSC Accelerated Program (CARE)? I am trying to decided if I want to accept LSU or Delgado. It seems like it is easier for people with children to go to RN school then BSN online.

I think most people on this thread will be starting their first semester at charity this fall. That being the case, we can't yet apply for the LSU bridge yet. I can't remember if it is a semester or two that must be completed (along with more prerequisites to LSUs program) but it's too soon for the majority of folks on this thread. There may be some LPNs or different transitions that have another circumstance though.

That said, i will be applying to the program when I'm able to, and have already completed my prerequisite coursework for the EARN program.

These are the prerequisites required for the LSU RN to BSN program right?

Yes, well, in a round about way yes. Some of those are prerequisites for charity, some would be done after the first semester of nursing school (like pharmacology). I apologize that my notes are all over this, but this is how the earn pathway works through Delgado-->LSU. And once admitted, there are obviously more classes. You need a 2.8, and all these prerequisites done before applying to LSUs concurrent program. ?

What is meant by “electives?”

Any idea where I can find a list of electives on Delgado’s website?

I have all of these classes except Statistics, Chemistry, the Electives (as far as I know) and 6 hours of Humanities.

I’m registered for Chemistry and 3 hours of Humanities this summer at DCC. I’m hoping to get all of these done before my last semester at CSN, so I will be able to apply for the transition program.

Also, what is the asterisk next to PSYCH 226 and 240 for in your notes? Where you planning to use those classes as electives?

Yes, I'm in the same boat. I am taking chemistry this summer, along with developmental psyc (because an LSU Rep told me that will be a prerequisite on the new forms). Then I'm done with alllllllll prerequisites!

Electives are just anything that's not developmental, and also must be a "real" transferable class. So don't take kickboxing, or math 099 and consider it an elective. I took another sociology, a philosophy and nutrition. Again, sorry about all the scribbles, these are my personal notes for the path!

The asterisk is because i was told by an LSU rep that they are adding developmental and abnormal psyc to the prerequisite list. They didn't know (when i spoke with them last summer) when that would take effect but i figured it could count as an elective if i didn't end up needing it.

Oh, I have that sheet somewhere.

I actually have more electives than I thought I did then. Before I decided on the RN path I thought I may want to go into Occupational Therapy so I have several classes I could use as electives from then.

Did you take statistics at DCC?
