Charity School of Nursing Fall 2018

Published

Hi, all... So I am applying in January 2018 for the fall 18` semester. I wanted to start a thread to not only have a place where can all ask questions and share info but to hopefully make some friends to start the program with. I know several girls and guys who have completed the program and having a good relationship with your peers is a must.

they also have a session thursday march 1 at the west bank campus

Hey everyone. Haven't been on here in a while. Trying to wait patiently and not think too much about it haha. It helps that school is keeping me busy. I plan on going to the info session on Tuesday so I will be happy to share any info if y'all want to know.

A little about myself... I'm 30, I have 3 boys (9 years, 3 years, and 11 months). I honestly had never considered doing nursing until recently. I was a pharmacy technician for almost 5 years and had thought about possibly going to pharmacy school, but decided it wasn't for me. I realized I wanted to be a little more involved and hands on with the patients. I would love to be able to work with children or mommies eventually, so I'm thinking L&D or NICU although it takes a special type of person to be a NICU nurse and I'm not sure I could handle that! I'm just praying to get in and very excited to see where this path leads me. Good luck to all of you! :D

Hello everyone! I applied to CSN in January and I am so excited! I pray that I'm accepted. I'm a transfer student from southeastern, I'm trying to see what my profile score will be. I don't know which grades they'll be using for my cumulative gpa. Some of my classes aren't in the nursing curriculum at Delgado, but Delgado does offer the classes. I really hope they include most of my grades because it would really help my profile score

So, I went to the session today that you guys had previously mentioned. It was mostly about cost and what to expect before starting school. Prior arrest submissions, drug tests, submitting health history and medications you're currently on. They made it clear that it will be around $4000 on average for the first semester, with textbooks, supplies, etc. Start saving now! Also, they mentioned required immunizations, and suggested starting your Hep B shots if you haven't had them, since it takes about 7 months to complete. Did anyone else attend the session? Am I missing anything? I hope this helps some that were wondering about the session, but couldn't attend.

Are they still saying April for letters to go out? Thanks for all other info!

They didn't mention it, and nobody asked. I'd stick with the April date for now, but was told by a Delgado advisor that it could be the end of March. That would be nice. The sooner we know, the sooner we can plan!

Yes, I also went and I asked one of the ladies, she said we should know soon because admission orientation is in April

I was there! Got stuck standing the whole hour! Lol well I guess you got to get used to being on your feet in nursing!

I feel your pain! I was stuck sitting on the floor. You forget how old you are until you try to get up off a hard floor with a bad knee. Oh well. haha

I was stuck sitting on the floor too all the way in the back... they really should have planned for a bigger room.

I was stuck on the floor too.lol But the session was very informative. I just wished that they could have gave us more info on the letters though.

Hi Ladies, im glad to find this thread, I also created a new Charity fall 2018 discussion last night because i didnt see this one till now. I have also applied in january and Im waiting to find out. Good luck to all!
