changed Processing time for Federal skilled worker (including RNs)

Published

hi everyone,

i need a verification or atleast enlightenment for this one. a canadian consultancy firm (if thats what its really called) has emailed me and inform me that the processing time for an application as permanent resident in canada under the federal skilled workers category (registered nurses included in the list) has changed from 5-6 years in the old system to 6-12 months in the current system. according to them this was a reference from the annnouncement of immigration minister kenny. here's a portion of the email:

on november 28, 2008, the canadian immigration minister mr. kenney announced immigration levels for 2009; issued instructions on processing federal skilled workers.

"we expect new federal skilled worker applicants, to receive a decision within 6 -12 months compared with up to six years under the old system," said minister kenney.

i've been inquiring about how to immigrate in canada the past months and i came across this news.

i hope somebody knows about this or can atleast tell me how to verify this news before i decide to pass my application.thanks everyone. god bless you.

Hi.. anybody who has applied as a skilled worker? Any update?

The EB3 visa category for the Philippines is dead due to lack of visas for nurses. And will be for a very long time. Time for nurses to go for H1B to work in the US.

Hi guys. I just want to ask if anybody have already tried applying to go to Canada under the skilled workers program. They said it's just 6-12 months processing. Anybody here that could share their experience. Thank you so much.

WHATS an AOR? Is that the same with AEO - Arrange Employment Opinion?

My process is PR/Fed Skilled Worker and I already have the request from the College of Manitoba for their assessment. CCA they call it there, not SEC.

FMOG,

Whats the new rule after June 2010?

you paid the already the cc? whats that?

I bet my immigration papers was not filed yet due to my AEO. still waiting for the file number or approval from HRSDC.

sILVERDRAGON,

From June 10 all documents for application for PR must be sent to Sydney NS and be assessed, this includes English/French exams. Suggest you read this Immigrating to Canada: Skilled workers and professionals

AOR = Acknowledgements of Receipt and is something the embassy sends you once they receive all your documentation

new rule after june 26, 2010 is that full application should be sent to CIO in Nova scotia. Whereas before, only initial application should be sent to CIO.CC is credit card.

I applied for assessment in CRNBC.

Good for you, you have AEO.

AOR is acknowledgement of receipt.
