Im at CGCC in block 3. I can try and answer any questions you might have
Tests are different depending on the teacher obviously. Most come straight from lecture/powerpt. I can honestly say that I rarely read the text (only if I need clarification) and currently hold an A in block 3. BUT it all depends on how you learn and how and who you study with. You need to learn your own learning style. Super important.
As far as clinicals for block 2 go we had them at Mayo, Mercy Gilbert, VA, Chandler Regional but I believe they go to Banner Facilities now? so Banner Desert maybe Gateway and VA and Mayo?
Thank you so much for the info. That is what I was hoping. That is how it is a Scottsdale, and it works for me. I like to just go through the PowerPoint, then do some NCLEX questions and then go back through my PowerPoint. Do they have good labs? Do you have lots of in-class hands on?
I really appreciate the info, I am so worried about switching but I drive an 1.5hrs one way to class.

Wow. Thank you for sharing this article!! I have heard nothing good about CGCC's nursing program. I'm glad I stayed away from it.
The CGCC program is relatively new compared to the other MCCD schools. I'm guessing they still have kinks to work out. I for one did not want to be part of their "learning curve". Your best bet is to either stay with SCC or if you need to transfer go for Mesa, Phoenix, or gateway. I've heard only good things about these 4 programs. Not having gone to CGCC I don't know how true the rumors are, but I wasn't wilking to find out when I put my 5 in.

Hi everyone,
I am looking for someone who is in block one right now at cgcc. I am currently in block 1 at scc and I am looking to change to a program closer to me for block two. I would really appreciate any insight people have about the program at cgcc(how are the teachers, do test question come straight from power point or do you have to read everything, how's are labs). Anything in General would be helpful. Also if anyone that is in block two right now would like to share where there clinical's are at I would really appreciate it.
Thanks you,
email [email protected] if you don't want to post.
