Does it matter as long as you have your license?
Any branch that would automatically DQ me for a school of choice like this?

No problem. I'm an Excelsior grad (twice), an officer, and teach at two universities.

As long as your BSN is from a ccne or nlnac accredited school. Make sure your GPA is high though. Army Nursing is becoming a great deal more selective and competitive. We had a Nurse Corps recruiter come talk to our graduating class a few months ago. She told us that they had several hundred applicants last year with only a few being selected, all with above a 3.7.

Edit below...lol
Nurse2033, what branch are you in?
BOSS Man, I went to Excelsior's website and noticed they are not CCNE accredited which means the Navy won't accept the degree. The Navy website doesn't say anything about NLNAC accreditation, and I don't know about other branches.

I would expect you could get scholarships. Excelsior has military rates. I do plan on staying as long as it works for my family.

The quota for direct commissions for the Army in FY 14 is even less then FY 13 which was posted on this site as around 40.
