chance of getting hired with no experience

there is one job opening posted in med/surg unit. i was about to start applying for this job but then i thought, i have no experience working in the hospital, just nursing homes so even if i apply i'll be among many applicants who have tons of experience in the hospital. what do you think is a chance of getting hired and do you think its worth applying in the first place or should i forget about it?

Does it hurt to try? All of us in the hospital have been inexperienced at one point or another. Give it a shot.
