Hi everyone! I recently applied to Chamberlain University (Irving campus) and took my second attempt for the HESI exam last Saturday. I needed at least a 73% and I got an overall score of 70%. My GPA is a 2.87. What are my chances of getting in. I'm so nervous and have been stressing about it way too much.

It's 2.71 ?. I have an autoimmune disorder that threw my grades in the tank for a while until I was diagnosed and got things in order.

Did you talk to your admissions representative about it? What did they tell you

They didn't say much. I have a bachelor's degree in psych. Not sure if they are taking that into consideration or not. I have to wait for a transcript evaluation. I'll definitely keep you posted.

You have a bachelors, I'm sure you'll be good, plus your HESI score was really good as well, keep me updated on what they say. They're supposed to call me on Thursday I'll keep you updated on what they tell me too?

Hey...I did get accepted but I was told I needed at least a B- in Microbiology which I am currently enrolled in at my local community college.

OMG congratulations! ??? I still haven't heard anything from them. I'm hoping I'll know something by the end of next week. So nervous

Did you choose a start date? If it was July 10 I would definitely think you will hear something soon. They just called me this evening but I am moving it to Sept start. She was like I wish I knew you had mentioned it to the other admissions coordinator, we didn't have to rush. She said she would contact me again in mid-August.

Probably that's why, I choosed to start in Sept, I feel like July is too soon. Also, I was going to ask did they make you write an essay explaining your GPA or how you'll be successful in nursing school?

I did write a purpose statement when I first applied but it wasn't long or anything, maybe a paragraph. I didn't explain my GPA or anything. They are taking 54 prior credits and it's still super expensive...smh

I wrote my purpose statement & an essay as well explaining how I'll be successful. Hopefully they take it into consideration ? & ughh yes Chamberlain is super expensive ?that's what made me think twice before applying. Is FAFSA giving you anything?

Nope, I already have a bachelor's degree.

Are you going to be paying out of pocket?
